E-Grip: Debounce...Dwell...WHA?!

I'm sure this is up here already but I looked and I cannot find the answers for the life of me. For the A-5 E-Grip what exactly do the debounce and dwell functions do and are they worth changing?

Re: E-Grip: Debounce...Dwell...WHA?!

By adjusting Debounce, Dwell and Rate of Fire, you can fine tune how well your marker fires.

Dwell is the amount of time that the solenoid will be activated. The time is measured in milliseconds (1/1000th of a second). The default dwell is 6.0ms.

Debounce is the amount of time the trigger must be stable before checking for another trigger pull. This is measured in milliseconds. The default debounce setting is 20ms.

Rate of Fire (ROF) Cap sets the maximum cycle speed of the marker. The default ROF Cap is 15 bps.

Hope this helps!

Re: E-Grip: Debounce...Dwell...WHA?!

lt1pwr more or less got it.

dwell is how long the solenoid stays in the active position before returning to let the bolt catch on the sear.

debounce is sort of a trigger restriction. it won't fire if the trigger is pulled too fast in a row. the reasoning behind it, is that a lot of high end speedball guns have such sensitive triggers that the recoil of the marker alone will pull the trigger again, called "bouncing". it creates a full auto effect and it's illegal. so you tune the debounce so that if the reciol pulls the trigger again, it won't fire.

i dont know about the was board but the ape board auto sets that when you change rate or mode of fire. but if you get an ape board, use the leaf from the was board. the are so much better.

Get out your e grip book. If you don't have one, get on Tippmann.com and follow the directions.

I will summarize: Hold the trigger down and press the power button. After one second release the power button and then release the trigger. The light should be red. This is the dwell programming mode. Pull the trigger and release the light should now be green. Pull the trigger and release again flickering green ROF mode. Pull again flickering green and orange is default mode setting. In this mode you can pick which firing mode it automatically goes to when turning trigger on. For instance on my gun it is turbo mode. When I turn on the gun it goes straight to turbo. For more info: bottom of page 2 and top of 3.
http://www.tippmann.com/pdfs/manuals...nt_Manuals.pdf

Oh yeah, To adjust any programming mode, hold the trigger until the light goes out and then one trigger pull per ms. For instance if default is 6ms and you want 15 pull the trigger 15 times. In ROF pull trigger once per one BPS. So, if you want 20bps pull trigger 20 times. In default fire mode pull 1-5 for firing mode desired.

With a real gun this is called Bump Fire. With a real rifle you have to fire from the hip to achieve it. The recoil energy throws the rifle back while it's in your hands, this acts like a runaway see-saw motion. as it converts back and forth from Kinetic to Potential energy it helps you fire the trigger again. While it's not as fast on a real rifle it's the same thing.

i have to disagree....
i've done it shouldering a rifle it's hard, but it's possible.

I kinna thought it might be given the right circumstances. I just didn't know if anyone had bump fired a rifle while it was shouldered. Throw your aim off any?

Re: E-Grip: Debounce...Dwell...WHA?!

the aim is better than from the hip, but the best you can get is a general look down the barrel, so it's an improvement but you still can't really aim well. i suppose a red dot sight or something would assist in that.
