Trigger help for the newb

I'm trying to get my head around this trigger business - tell me if I am right here...

What I want is to install a double trigger to reach as much of the potential of the A5's cyclone speed -- without going the E-trigger or R/T route. I'd prefer keep the marker mechanical, and to be honest, I'd rather sink $ into a cyclone upgrade.

So, am I correct in thinking that the gun will fire as fast as my fingers can walk a double trigger, assuming I do the pen spring mod?

And which double trigger is recommended? the Tippmann, the Fang, etc.

Thanks in advance,
Sean

In honesty, unless you relieve some of the tension on the sear (with the spring mods), installing a double trigger is only going to give you marginal results. The sear requires _X_ amount of force to release the hammer and that really won't change just by installing a new trigger. What it DOES do is give you greater cantilever force because now you have 2 fingers to pull and not one. The results will still be marginal though.

As to a trigger recommendation...I'd say anything made from anything better than plastic - and whatever fits your budget - will work. Everything else is just player preference really.

Unless you can crush walnuts with your fingers, you probably won't be able to really "walk" the trigger on a mechanical marker.

Re: Trigger help for the newb

It's rather difficult to walk a mech trigger.

If you really do not want an egrip or R/T (as a note, R/Ts are usually preferred with single triggers), then I think your best bet is a Fang with a lightened spring or even a magnetic return mod.

Sorta. You see, the trigger has to trip the sear. That takes a lot of pressure where as most "walkable" guns just have to press a tiny little switch.

If you get the egrip with the rampage magnetic trigger though, you will be able to walk the A-5 no problem. I had the magnetic trigger and it's great if you can tune it just right

Re: Trigger help for the newb

I recently added a Fang to my E-grip. I know in that config you can walk the trigger really well!!!

Re: Trigger help for the newb

You might get some nice result with the TechT Trigger Kit, but those are usually hit or miss from what I've I've heard/read. I have them, but I haven't tried them out yet.

Re: Trigger help for the newb

Just curious, but if you were strong enough to walk a mech trigger, what would the max BPS be around without any other upgrades? (Just theoretical, I have no real interest in getting a double trigger)
