Re: Hey Simbrian. Look HERE! (aswell as everyone else)

there are types of wood out there that can be polished to a mirror shine without any chemicals.

Re: Hey Simbrian. Look HERE! (aswell as everyone else)

You know, depending on what you wanted to "wood" out, you could just go for slight details in wood.

Like, the front site woodn't be too hard.

Maybe a wooden cocking handle? If you could put a metal spring rod (whatever it is called) on the back of the cocking handle, it would be more sturdy.

You could even complete the wood trigger look by making a wooden trigger guard.

A wood safety?

Etc...

I vote a foregrip wood be a good next project. If you have a lathe the possibilities would be endless!!!

Yeah, with a good lathe, you just about do a whole shroud and front grip.

That would be really interesting to see!

Re: Hey Simbrian. Look HERE! (aswell as everyone else)

Yep, at school i have 3 lathes at my disposal

I was thinking about making the panels that go inside the grip, to replace the rough ugly ones that come with it

http://www.precisionairsoft.com/usrimage/cat889476.jpg

Heres my possible (and most likely) list of future wood parts:
- Trigger gaurd
- Foregrip panels
- Grip plug+shelf
- Double trigger+gaurd

I think ill do the double trigger and gaurd if i have time tommorow. What type of wood should i use? Should i keep going with the bloodwood for ALL parts (to make it match, red+black) Or should i switch to something else?

Re: Hey Simbrian. Look HERE! (aswell as everyone else)

I would keep the wood the same.

For the consistency of the looks, and if it is a hardcore as you say, you might need it to be tuff stuff.

Re: Hey Simbrian. Look HERE! (aswell as everyone else)

Well, put it this way. I made guitar picks for my friend out of the wood, and theyre his FAVORITE, even over his purple brains. So, even when its really thin, it can withstand metal playing (it leaves little ridges over awhile though)
