Cheers DIY Home Made Hair Pin Trigger Kit

I have been messing around trying to increase the sweet spot on the response trigger by increasing the thickness of the pin that the sear rests on (gives you a shorter reset interval with the disconnector) but all my attempts ended up in uncontrolled full auto.

I first started using the springs from ink pens as they would last longer than a plastic sleeve but they were too thick (micrometer read out at 15 thousandths of an inch). So I started looking for something as durable but thinner. Thats when I was suprised to find that using a metal twist tie wire scraped free from the plastic surrounding it would give me just what I was looking for.

Measuring in at 12 thousandths of an inch, I slowly wrapped the wire around the pin in a helical fashion so that the sear had plenty of material to rest upon (should help reduce wear) and inserted the pin back into the trigger housing. After putting everything back together and adjusting the flow valve I was able to run the marker flat out until my 20 oz bottle froze.

You might start with a pen spring first as some of the markers might not need a smaller spring. If a twist tie is still too big one could always try different strands of copper wire which should provide the same results Ive had.

I have also done the q=tip mod but used an old drill bit instead which I also believe to be of great help. My marker now runs the way Ive always wanted it too and reliably without any worry of whether or not I am going get the sweet spot when I need it.

Hope this helps!
