testing response trigger

I just took the responce trigger out of my gun. I suspected that it was broken because the gun wasnt working correctly.
Is there a way to to test the responce trigger to see if it works?

Re: testing response trigger

Do you have the hose line from the cyclone to the trigger hooked up? like a T banjo fitting to both your cyclone and RT

Re: testing response trigger

Yea install in back in your gun, and with a full tank of air/co2, screw the adjuster all the way ( to where it should put the most pressure ) and see if the pin behidn the trigger gets hard as hell to push. If it gets really hard to push, it was just low air, if it doesnt, u have low air, or a leak. Check the o rings aroudn all ur bajos, and check the orings inside the gripframe and oring on the brass fitting inside the back of the gun ( right abotu the gripframe where it connect )

Re: testing response trigger

Cody-

When you say the "gun wasn't working correctly" what does that mean? Was it not firing at all? Was it not going into response? Was it doing a 3-shot then stop thing? Was there a leak?

With more info we can help better. My R/T has never really had any issues (I've had 3 different guns with R/T on all of them) and it is easy to troubleshoot. We just need to know where to begin.

well it would shoot once, but I would have to recock the gun after every shot.

That's probably not an R/T issue.
Do us a favor Cody, and list all your mods and ups.
That'll help up figure out why your hammer isn't blowing back to catch sear.
Or what part is causing the symptom.
Got a reg, lightened hammer, or spring kit?

i have absolutely no upgrades or mods on the gun. I bought it from a friend of mone that was in need of some extra cash, and he said the only thing he had ever done to it was put the responce trigger in. The guy in the paintball shop also mentioned something about bigger fittings and bigger hoses for the R/T.

After some further thought on this, there are two additional possibilities that could cause this issue. First, it could be a cracked power tube, this could create a bad seal when hammer strikes pin. The other possibility is that your hammer O-ring is bad, in which case that would create the same results as well. Either case would mean not enough pressure is released to return to sear. Then again, you could just have a bad/old/worn out spring and it's not pushing hard enough down on pin, and therefore not releasing enough gas to return hammer. But what's confusing is that you should be experiencing fart-down if these were the case. Are you sure you don't have the cocking and drive springs swapped?

Check:
1) Power tube for cracks/damage/imperfections
2) Hammer O-ring damage/dry-rot/exc.
3) Ensure spring is good (also that you haven't swapped cocking and drive springs).

This is a good idea, but get your marker to cycle properly first.
Then defiantly look into upgrading the R/T.
First things first.
Good luck dude, keep us posted.
