Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Could you take a counter sink bit or a bit the diameter of the micro switch button and slightly countersink the inside of the head of the rivet or would the head pop off because you would have to go too deep?

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

I would try it but not sure how much longer I'm going to have a WAS board. This will be my second one that went to craps on me now. I didnt even get to play 1 game with it after I replaced it the last time.

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Yea, so many ppl have trouble with them. The WAS we modded was my Dads. We had to send it back because it would not program. If you have trouble with your WAS, and you still want to go APE, still send the WAS in to tippmann again anyways, that way you will still have two E-grips. WAS redesigned their board, so you dont have to pull your trigger and go on. If you want an E-Grip, the best way to go is APE. I went cheap and bought my Dads old dial set E-Grip, and put magnets below the noid to make it return a little faster. I prefer this E-Grip over the WAS because you dont have to worrow about messing up the programing and stuff. You dont have to fiddle with it to turn it on either. Not only that, but I didnt want an extremely fast marker anyway. my style of play doesnt require it. I was originally going to get a APE and set it on a low bps, but decided why go buy a 100 dollar ape, and then just set it to around 15 bps, when I can get a standard dial set for half the price, and still be able to set it to 15?

Its much easier.

Thanks for rep. Rifle!

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Nice job!! clean!

you would not need a button on the A.P.E. once its set it keeps its setting and is like the original E-Grip. Once it's on it's on..set it and forget it..lol,

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

I used a small piece of black plastic, like what you find in a model car kit from walmart, on my APE board. The framing that holds the pieces is a nice small diameter. Super glue it to the ape button after cutting off a small length. Then with the grip assembled you can use a small set of dikes to "fine tune" the shape so that it doesn't stick out.

If the button sticks out you can change modes while playing, so it needs to be slightly recessed. Then you can put your finger over the hole and you just have to press in a little more to get the button to work.

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Can anyone get me a close up photo of the APE board in the grip housing? I've got some ideas to warp this idea to fit but I need to see how the components are placed first.
