Re: How-To: E-Grip button

I have thought about doing this but then I realized when I have my hand over the grip I might assidentally hit the button and switch modes when I dont want to or do some other thing that might mess me up... Yall did good though...

I was having that problem when I first made mine, then I just filed it down a little bit more so its not sticking out at all and I just have to push my finger a tad bit harder to activate it and now it never gets pushed during a game. It works like a charm now. I reccomend this to any WAS E-grip users.

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

I agree i filed mine down and it sits perfectly in the crack of my finger applying no pressure to the button at all. This is so much more covenant then having to pull out the little screw driver in the middle of battle

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Im glad to see that this is helping everyone out! Jaron, I would love to take a close-up, but the only E-Grips I have available at the time are WAS boards.

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Shoot, I dont have to pull out anything to stick in mine, granted it's not as easy as this mod but it still works. I put a little zip tie on my trigger frame and then cut the end a bit and just put it the long piece behind the hose on my cyclone so whenever I need to change the mode or turn it off I just pull that thing out and stick it in the hole and then put it back. It doesnt look great but it works and works well for me.

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Great idea, but I used a 12 gauge electrical wire. Striped off the insulation and heated the plastic up until it mushroomed out a little on the end, cut it and put it in the hole. 12 gauge seems to be the best diamater.

You will have to file or sand down the actual switch before you can do this on the A.P.E. I do not recommend this because in the event of the removal of some of the switch, you might pull the switch off due to a snag or etc. Therefor, I never attempted this mod on my board. Just a little heads up for you A.P.E. owners.
You could relieve the area around the grip frame button hole to accept the rivet instead of altering the APE board button.
