Re: How-To: E-Grip button

OI if u guys dont feel like going out and buying a rivit searchin for the right size and finding a grinder or sitting down to file the thing i have a simple VERY simple alternative.... take a standard BIC pen and pull the ink tube out, size it and mark it so u know how much to cut, then cut the ink tube to the desired length... at this point its still a little loose so i took some electrical tape wrapped it a few times, closed up my grip and now its a nice snug fit, wont fall out but not to tight to push im very happy with the job i did took me a total of 1 min to complete haha

you need a new frame. that is why some ppl buy WAS boards with the grip and then upgrade the board.

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

just take a nail, a hacksaw and some electrical tape. i got really fancy and stuck a button from a old remote in the top of mine so it sticks out but theres some give until it actually presses down. be sure to heat up the electrical tape to to have a nice, even, tight wrap around whatever your button-trigger is.....

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

I just did this Mod to my A5 and it works great. I did have to open the hole in the grip just a bit do the rivet did not get bound up and keep the button depressed. Excellent idea and great step by step directions!

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Great idea! It took me about 5 minutes to do. I used a file (no grinder) and in 3 strokes it was a perfect size.

Re: How-To: E-Grip button

Took your advice and made one for myself.

For you westcoasters, went to local Harbor Freight and picked up their rivet refill kit for 3.99 iirc.

I found the top right one to be the right fit.

Then get some pliers and vised it at the rivet itself and hammered it down to pop it out of the stem.

Then checked where it needed to be cut at

Used same pliers to trim

File til it fit flush

And Voila!

3.99 and less than 15mins of my time. Thanks OP for the tip.
