| I have always been a fan of the response trigger for the A5 simply because i did not want to mess around with batteries for an egrip. I have been using an RT on my A5 (G3A5 in the pics section) with 1/8" lines and it works well. I followed all the fine tuning of the RT listed here in other forums and it works great (getting 8 or so bps). The cyclone cylinder benefited from being ported and resulted in a much faster cycling cyclone; Does anyone think porting the response cylinder would make the response trigger able to fire faster? I have a spare RT cylinder that i can port to see if it affects it. Anyone have any thought about doing this? |

| Re: Ported response cylinder? Ahhh, ive been thinking about that for awhile too, like port past the plunger, so when it trips it, the rest of the air after its engaged, is let out... James

| Re: Ported response cylinder? neat idea... i think it would work decently. can't a response trigger go a good deal more than 8bps anyway though? i keep hearing of people getting up to 20bps out of theirs....

| Re: Ported response cylinder? Yes it can I get about 20 with mine. On dry fire it sounds like a mini-gun. It slows down a bit when you fire real paintballs. But yeah they can get about 20 bps. You have to modify it to do it though. Use the search button and search for the how to on the Super RT mod. These are the RT setups that can get you 20 bps. It's a lot of fun to let people see you rip it. They get a big smile on their face and I smile knowing they saw it. ![]()

| Re: Ported response cylinder? im pretty positive it can go past 8/10 bps, but i cant seem to get it over that; i switched out the trigger reset and the seer springs with ones from clicky pens and the trigger is very light compared to stock, which sort of fixed my issue with the RT (it wouldnt go more then 2-3 shots at 4-5 bps or so). It may be the 1/8" banjos on the cyclone; i do not have the restrictor in it and it cycles like a bat out of hell; it will run down to ~100 psi and will cycle 4 out of 5 times at the guns max cycle rate, aka... as if the bolt never catches the seer. My father's A5 is identical internally (only difference is his looks like an M4) and he can get his up to about 15 bps, but the sweet spot is way to small to hit during a suprise firefight and the 1/8" restrictor for the cyclone did visibly nothing.... hmmm will deff look into the super RT mods; i think i have half of it (1/8" banjos/lines?) edit: just read about the super RT and i have everything but the qev... after reading on palmers site; i have no idea where it goes... | Re: Ported response cylinder? Well i drilled a 1/16" hole in the under side of the cylinder right where the plunger stops (when the trigger is reset, hole is 1/2 open) and it made it a pain to tune! The adjustment screw does practically nothing; I went through a 68ci 4500 psi HPA tank as well as 2 24oz CO2 tanks and forget it; cant get it to fire faster then my non ported one. ![]() Ill get picks later tonight when i have access to a digital camera. Ill just get a QEV and call it a day. |
