Re: R/T - Clicky Spring Mod Guide

VVulfe, thank you so much for taking the time to put together this guide. I am brand new to this hobby and I was having some difficulty with my R/t on my A5. It was difficult to keep my finder on the "sweet spot". I changed my trigger spring last night and played capture the flag today for about 5 hrs. It worked like a champ. I had the best day yet , I was so consistent with the "sweet spot", I scored more hits today than I ever have since I started playing (5 weeks ago). Thanks again!

Take care,

Jay Gariepy

I'm glad it helped! You should also take a look at the guides by Psyopper and MisterMister that I mention in the guide.

Re: R/T - Clicky Spring Mod Guide

There is something that confuses me; On the x7og forum they do all the same steps except that when they remove the red trigger spring they put it in the place of the blue sear spring, the blue sear spring is removed completely is this just an x7 thing or is there a vital step missing. If they both work which of the two trigger spring mods work best. Hers a link to better explain i pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots

Re: R/T - Clicky Spring Mod Guide

They put a lighter spring for the sear?

Thats not s very good idea, don't know why they'd add that step. The lighter spring would/should increase sear wear, assuming its even strong enough to keep the sear catching in the first place. It would give you a lighter trigger pull, and if they are removing the return spring completely then that mod requires the r/t to function all the time, you can't run a stock trigger group without the spring unless you reset the trigger every time by hand.

Here the lack of a front spring is replaced by the extremely light weight spring, making is like not having it, but still providing a reset method other than the r/t which lets you still shoot mechanically rather than needing the pneumatic assist.

Re: R/T - Clicky Spring Mod Guide

What Beowulf88 said. The purpose of the spring mod is to make a lighter - and therefore more controllable - trigger. Reducing the strength of the sear spring will, as Beowulf mentioned, make it possible that the sear will not be able to catch or hold the bolt with no advantage that I can see.
