Re: Military Service

I'm a US Marine Corps Officer Candidate in the Platoon Leaders' Class program. It's like being in ROTC, but all of our training is during the summer.
Said training is either two 6-week trainings, or one 10-week. I went in 2004 and broke my arm half way through. I went back the next year and finished Juniors (1st 6 weeks). This summer I'm going back for Seniors, and assuming I graduate (Candidates can still be kicked out if deemed unqualified, and many are), I'll be off to The Basic School soon after. I know some Arabic, and I'm gunning for an intelligence MOS, preferably human intel.

I was a Sea Cadet in high school, too. It's a great organization for anyone interested in the military, especially any naval branch. I went to boot camp at Aberdeen Proving Ground, and worked at the Rochester, NY Coast Guard Station (twice), went to Lemoore Naval Air Station and worked on F/A-18s, and went on an exchange trip to Korea with Sea Cadets from all over the world. They even paid for my plane tickets to/from Korea. Not many high schoolers get those kinds of opportunities. Look them up if you're even remotely interested. They have a SEAL school, too, and from what I heard it's pretty serious.

an OO-RAH to the Marines, and a pitty clap for everyone else (j/k).
