The mozilla spell checker works fairly well, its been catching my phonetic spelling for a while now, heck, it just got me for screwing up phonetic.

See, just as Ddraiglais mentioned, a spell check feature can't catch everything.

FYI

Spellbound 0.7.3 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 2.0.0.4 (Spellbound 0.7.3 will only work with Firefox versions from 0.9 to 1.0+)

My Mac has one built in, along with the FF one and the Google tool bar one...
