| A5OG MVP's As of today you may or may not have noticed the new usergroup, A5OG MVP. After further review, it was decided that those members who have made outstanding contributions to the A5OG and deserve to be recognized. The A5OG is doing it's small part in recognizing these individuals by placing them in this special usergroup. These individuals can be easily identified by their Gold highlighted username, and by this badge ![]() Please give a round of applause to our A5OG MVP's: Craig Palmer Hi.....My name is Craig Palmer and I'm addicted to paintball. (holding a candle). I should be hitting 31 this September with a wife and identical twin boys that are 8 months old. I am the son a mechanical genius of which is a 3rd generation gun tech. My mother is project manager for DOD and many other state and Federal agencies. I consider myself an only child but I do have a half sister that is seen once in blue moon. This means that I never had to share my toys. I generally don't talk that much unless I feel that something needs to be said. I was known as "That Nice Guy" by the girls in school. I have taken a few classes in college but never pursued a degree. Well enough about my personal life.... I first played when I was 10 years old but built my first gun around 13 or so with a lot of help from my dad's staff. I did not start full time until I was 18, that makes 13 years of manufacturing and 21 years of paintball experince. I have seen many paintball companies come and go over the years. I remember the days when all of the manufactures would party together as friends, now some of that group that is too busy suing each other or have sold out by now. My dad is honrable man with with some great business policies. Of which shows in our customer service and explains why we have been in business as long as we have. We tend to do our own thing and if aint right, we don't bother. Good quality work, within a reasonable price and excellent customer service our main goal. I'm sure I could go on and on about how great we are but I'm not that type of guy. Word of mouth is our #1 advertiser and the products speak for themselves. Palmer Pursuit Shop Tyger Rob has been playing paintball since 1989. He has written for most of the major magazines at one time or another (Paintball Sports, PB2X, APG, SPLAT, APG, PGI, PBNews) Started the video shows in 2003 and kept at it (Web Dog Radio). And co-authored "The Complete Guide to Paintball", which is going into it's 4th printing. He is based out of Chicago, but travels where he can afford it. And as Rob himself put it....."Nothing too special, I'm just a guy who's hobby got out of control". Flatline's Up Hello, I'm Britt Reynolds. I'm a proud United States Navy Disabled Veteran and member of this forum (and many others). I originally got into paintball in '91 for a year or so and other hobbies led me to other areas until I decided to get back into it for health reasons in '04. I did my research and the only "smart" choice was a Tippmann A-5. At the time I was a member of the A5OG, and eventually was asked to become a Staff member there. Being a modder at heart, I couldn't leave my A-5 stock, so I started looking into what was available out there to do a little hot rodding. I liked some of what I saw, but I wanted something a little more unique. The end result was The Devastator. Members requested me to build items for them, and I started selling my wares on the old A5OG thru their Classifieds, and ended up working a deal with HotShotPaintball.com for them to be my main (read only) dealer. That relationship went well and my business grew large enough to stand on it's own. Underground Mod Shop, LLC (along with the UMS Forum) was officially opened in December of '06 to offer a few of those products that filled a void in the market. I have trained to be a "real" gunsmith, and that lent itself to paintball very well. I've self taught all of the mechanical/modding abilities and machining skills and I encourage others to do the same. You don't need a mechanical engineering degree to hack the front lip off of your A5 and have it look good. I'm currently in the process of teaching myself how to efficiently operate my latest shop addition, a small CNC mill. I like for my designs to inspire others to think, educate, and mod their own guns and gear to make them unique creations that their owners can be proud of. Eric Engler Eric was originally born in Glendale, Wisconsin but resides in Danbury, CT. He first started playing paintball around 1983, with his first paintball marker being a Tippmann Pro/Lite. His current list of Paintball markers include (Engler Paintball Guns): Engler M1 Thompson Pro/Carbine Serial #1 Engler AK-A5 Serial #1 Engler AK-X7 Serial #1 Engler M1-A5 Thompson Serial #1 Engler M2-BT HMG Serial #1 Engler M1 Carbine-ION Serial #1 Engler AK-ION Serial #1 Engler 1919-98C Serial #1 Engler Dragunov-98C Serial #1 Engler Sten-Custom-Pro Serial #1 Engler Barrett-Tac-9 Sniper Rifle Tippmann Pro/Carbine Tippmann Anniversary 98C He plays for the team Lords of Chaos, and in addition to this he has Commanded at several games, and received numerous Honor/Awards. General: WestPoint Big Game Spring 2004 General: WestPoint Big Game Fall 2004 General WestPoint Spring Game 2005 MVP WestPoint Fall 2005 General IAO Dukes of Hazard 2005 Colonel and ADC 101st Airborne Division Oklahoma D-Day 2005 Colonel and Co. Alpha Company, 101st Airborne Division Oklahoma D-Day 2006 Major-General and DC 101st Airborne Division Oklahoma D-Day 2007 Wookie So my Terran name is Sean and my regular day job is spent programming some high tech stuff for .gov and helping the occasional user with their Eye-Dee-Ten-Tee errors. For fun I like to hang with my 3 y/o, play paintball and occasionally camo-up some markers and other things (barbie doll cars, knives, etc..) I've been catching paintballs for about 5 years (on and off). I started out with dreams of being the uber-elite paintball sniper. So about my second or third game I show up in a hand crafted desert ghillie suit and my Tippmann-98 with a flatline. So what else are you going to call a 6'5" freak in a tan ghillie suit? So I was christened Wookie. I spent the rest of the day getting what my crew now calls Getting Wookied {tm}, (shot with in the first minute of play) ![]() I have gotten better over the years, but my friends still marvel at how 5 or 6 of us can be creeping through thick foliage and I am always the one who gets hit with the hail mary shot from OpFor. I say its a curse, OpFor says it's a gift. My only other claim to fame is I like to paint stuff. I remember holding my black Model-98 and thinking it needed a paintjob. At the time only one paintball outfit was camo'ing markers and they wanted over $300 to do it. Well, you can imagine a poor broke guy thinking, "$300! Thats highway robbery!" So I set out to do it my self. So I ended up spending close to $200 in paint and other supplies to do my first camo job. My First Paintjob It came out...well...ok. I've since painted dozens more and have refined my technique, but like that original paintball company I realized that spending 10-20 hours refinishing a marker is where the high cost of the paintjob comes from. So to help folks out I created some decent how-to's on painting and began selling the stencils that i use for my business at a pretty affordable price. This allows you guys to use whatever paints you have on hand, from $4 krylon to $16 duracoat. Tactical Camo Recently, I have been swamped between work and school, but I am hoping to get back into the sport this summer! See you out there, and remember, friends don't let friends 'get Wookied'!
