Slide Checks 101

Let me start by saying this is for the PMI coiled remote. Other remotes are going to be slightly different but not signifcantly I would think. My personal thanks go out to Steven "fong" Fong from the Tippinators. He showed me the first time how to do this.

If I have screwed this up, I am sure you folks will let me in on it

Tools and parts required. Teflon tape can be added

The wrenches go as shown and just loosen off the quick disconnect

Remove this O-ring to remove the slide check

I leave the O-ring on the collar of the slide

Use the jeweler's screwdriver to take out the old O-rings

I oil up the two new O-rings and insert them into the slots. I then apply some oil to the slide and drop the check back on.

The jeweler's screwdriver to slide the end O-ring back on

Tighten the quick disconnect back on and you are good to go. Teflon tape can be used here if required

Well that's that. Any questions, querys, corrections? Speak up.

Re: Slide Checks 101

Yeah, I got a question.........if two slide checks are gassed up and providing hpa at ~850psi, delivering 3cu ft. of air per millisecond, which one looks like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?

Seriously, great write-up! rep4u!

What's this nonsense about? I thought all Strike Force members knew this. By first applying Bill's law of Levitating Hotel Furniture you find one check is supplying a higher pressure due to an increased temperature from nearby incendiary devices, namely conflagrating refrigerators. Now, barring intervention from extinguishing equipment ( such as a convenient CO2 tank, tub of water, Apple computer, etc, ) that increased pressure and temperature will continue to build until the slide check becomes rather malleable, resulting in likenesses ranging from Cleopatra to Keith Richards.

Man, some people just don't pay attention in school . . .

Oh, and great write up Kreth.

Re: Slide Checks 101

I love it, but you are wrong Jaron, that law only applys to "Magic Finger Beds" when applying an even and contast pressure to three of the four legs with sea otter milk. Then and only then will you be able to increase the pressure within the slide check above 7 micro-glibes per flan. Or is it micro-flans per glibe, I can never remember that.

Great Write up Kreth!

Re: Slide Checks 101

Well I have to personally thank you for this how-to. My check-slide went to heck right as I gassed it up to play this weekend. I took it off, but thought I would have to bust out the cash to get a new one. You just saved me $20.

EDIT: Actually it wasn't just the checkslide that started leaking. It was the nipple fitting, the 90* fitting, and the reg. I tell you, when it rains, it pours!

Re: Slide Checks 101

So what's the common cause of slide check leaking? O-ring?
