hey guys, a buddy of mine got a 4 runner that we are going to turn into a tank so i need some ideas of what i should do to it. one guy told me to put rockets in the front headlights. lets make this a fun thread but try to stay on topic!

haha oh I see, that's blunt. Well it is a vehicle(not to mention a toyota), so you could just do nothing to it, romp around and still have a blast...

I saw put a turret on top with an automatic gun and a law rocket that runs off an hpa tank. How many people do you want to ride in it? If you put like 4 people in it you can have one drive two door gunners and one turret gunner.

I think it would be fun to make a tank but I wouldn't want to be in one. I'm too much of an action junky.

i dont want to really be in it either unless i gun, oh, wait i cant drive yet! most feilds don't allow auto markers on a tank. most rules state... no more than one paintball can be fired with one trigger pull. or something like that.

Duff, what do you want to do with it?


The only things I caution about tanks are: be sure you can transport it if you intend to take it to away games or if it isnt going to live at the field.

Some fields do require you to have Tank insurance now. May the force be with you on that. Some will excpet different forms of insurance like off roader insurance. Cosio is the only one doing Tank specific policies. If it aint required, then dont run anyone over and you dont have any problems. Run someone over and your screwed.

Remember when building a tank, to make it easy to maintain it. If you've got a flat you need to be able to access the tires. If there is motor issues, you still need to be able ot raise the hood, that sort of thing. If your just tossing a turret on top, then you aint gotta worry about that. But if your like the team I'm with and get all detialed and exact tank looking, well you gotta consider that stuff.

Budget: plan your budget of what its gonna cost you, then tripple it. You may have enough money to build it.

Tanks cost. The transport fees are what really kills you. Best advice is hit the TANK section on WARPIG.com. Look over the old threads and ask questions. Those guys have done it all and figured out how not to have to do it more then once and do it as inexpensive as possible. Its a great resource for us in Armor.
