suggestion for a...

multiquote radio button. You can set a limit of how many to quote at one time...I think 5 would be a nice, round figure.

Do you mean that you want more people to be able to talk at once on a radio, and be able to interrupt like on the telephone?

Re: suggestion for a...

I think Druid's referring to a radio button in the interface sense - IE, a "select one of several options" button used in a graphical user interface.

However, if I'm reading Druid right, he's asking for a way to select several posts, and then quote all of them in a reply. If this is the case, it's not a radio button that would likely be used, but a check box instead.

Druid, could you clarify?

I think he means going down the list of people that havve talked, and hitting the quote button would not immidiantly take you to a new post, but allow you to select a certain amount of quotes first. To quote multiple people without tinkering with the QUOTE tags.

Yeah, that makes sense but I'm not very IT savvy.

Re: suggestion for a...

heh...web-stuff is not my forte...

In other forums I am a member to, there is a button on each post that says "Quote, Edit, Fast Reply and Multiquote." The multiquote button does just that - when you click on it, it highlights in color, telling you it's active and allows you to respond to multiple posts instead of constantly hitting "quote....typing a response....select all, copy....then hit the back button.....quote another...Paste...reply...select all, copy....create a response....and again and again....".

Some forums are cut off at 5 and others are unlimited. When you click the "multiquote" buttons and then hit the "reply" button at the bottom of the page, those posts you wish to respond to automatically appear in your response...and all you have to do is make the response to it.

What it does is allow for direct questions/responses to particular posts and removes the "were you talking to me?" posts and clutter.

Sorry for the confusion but I don't know how else to describe it....

No offense intended.

I understand exactly what you mean and I think that this could be integrated into this forum...........who runs the software?
