Rate of cyclone problems

It would be interesting to know approximately the percentage of cyclone owners that have suffered one or more fairly significant problems with it.

Perhaps a poll?

Thanks BeerandFuel for your tip below.

As you can see I have added a poll, however i can see one problem: It could be that a fraction of A-5 owners have signed up to this forum due to technical problems with their product. We must therefore keep in mind the possibility of the final results are representative of the real situation.

Also, to define "issues": Issues, although a plural word, can imply one single issue, whereby fault, defect or sustained damage has hindred the object in question in performing to personal acceptable standards.

I will not vote now because I have not yet used my A-5.

Re: Rate of cyclone problems

When you create a thread on this forum you have the option of creating a poll. Sounds like a good idea for a poll, so give it a try.

Re: Rate of cyclone problems

The problem with this poll is it's a tad unfair. Every piece of equipment, on a long enough time line, will fail in some way. The ratchet will need replacing, or the spring will wear out, or some such. A better feel would be to ask for those who've had major cyclone problems with less than two years between any two.

Re: Rate of cyclone problems

I voted yes but all my problems were self induced as my A-5 is no where near stock and on the way to where it is I Had some problems but I put a 500 horse power motor in front of a four cylinder Transmission when you do that you have a problem

Re: Rate of cyclone problems

I voted no. I just bought my A-5 this year and already have installed the Vortex Mod and Palmer QEV without any problems. The only problems I had was due to the crappy balls I bought that broke in the cyclone. After breaking I checked the balls out and they were flat on one side where they had sat in the box too long.

And the cool thing with my A-5 is that I have played with outher guys that have more expensive markers with electro hoppers and they have ALL had a lot more problems with theirs than I ever had. Plus, they always have to take their markers to someone to work on them. All I have to do if I don't know the answer is come here and post - WOOT! In less than a day I have the answer, fix the problem myself, don't have to pay any labor cost, and my marker isn't stuck at a shop.

Re: Rate of cyclone problems

My A5 has been chopping like a butcher lately. I had one situation where the barrel was off, 1 ball in the #1 chamber of the cyclone (right before the breech), empty breech, and I shot 1 to put tha tball in the breech, and it chopped.

Re: Rate of cyclone problems

Mine was doing some weird chopping and once I stripped it to clean it, I found a dump load of paint around the bolt. Once I cleaned it really good (a complete strip down clean) it worked like a charm.

By the way ... "chopping like a butcher", that's awesome! Sweet anus reference!

Re: Rate of cyclone problems

I have never had a problem with my cyclone except for when I installed the APE board and test fired. Even then my cyclone blended paint beautifully.

Well I think hes talking as of right now, not in the future. We all know the Cyclone will wear out, we just dont know when.
And yes as of right now, I do get some skips when shooting at about 8+ bps. Im going to get the Vortex pretty soon.
