Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

When I upgraded to the TechT Vortex ratchet, the instructions that came with it instructed me to clip the top coil off the ratchet spring to allow the cyclone to cycle more easily.

I just thought that not enough tension on the ratchet spring may have something to do with your over-cycling problem.

You could replace the ratchet spring with a new one (same as the trigger spring) to see if that stops your over-cycling. Just a suggestion.

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

I upgraded to the 1/8" banjos and tubing today and made sure they were lined up correctly and my undercycling issue went away. Still couldn't get it above 20 bps, though.

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

I'm blown away. Like AWkward said, I get well above 20 bps with the stock hoses. No problems. Why does it work on some guns and not others? By the way, I've used HPA and Co2.

i'd say 20bps for a R/T is a pretty decent accomplishment. maybe try some trigger mods so you can sweet spot it easier?

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

Well It's not dishonest. Think about it. They go through approval for allowing things to be made to be offered to be purchased as well as being offered for free.

People tend to argue with a customer as to if they even need such things when they don't see sense in it. I've ran into this at my local hardware store more times than I can count. The older guys tend to think things I may ask for are odd or not make sense as to why I asked for it.

You would be utilizing the companies offer and not abusing it. It's just utilization of available resources.

It's the customer's right to buy things or accept offers that companies are willing to sell or offer even if it does not make sense to the person in direct contact with the customer.

"The customer is always right." granted that this is true until things like belligerence occurs.

Honestly I am glad I upgraded mine. Mine is from Palmers simply because I did not want to fool with Tippmann's Customer Service.

It enables you to got to a higher bps in the fact that it's harder to starve your piston of the pressure it needs to operate. So it makes the cyclone more efficient.

The fun part is watching the line frost up and the marker still fires.

after reading a bit... i think i may be mistaken... my bad. i thought the hoses and banjos were in reference to a response trigger, not just a cyclone.

I'll just relate my story...I was at SC Village when the last 48hr scenario game was going on, and went to the Tippmann booth to see if they could help me with a cyclone that wasn't cycling well with HPA. They did the upgrade to the 1/8 fittings for me on the spot, for no charge, and even put my old parts in a little envelope for me.

Tippmann is there to support us 100%. If they'd asked me to pay for it, I would have. I told the guy, "I'm a Tippmann guy for life!" and he said, "that's why we're out here!"

Good stuff.
