1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

So far, I've come across threads that are on different ends of the spectrums on whether the 1/8" banjo fittings and hoses help with higher ROF. Some say it recharges slower because it has more volume to fill before each shot. Others say it will provide better airflow and move things faster. I'm confused about the consensus on these things. What are your opinions?

It helps so much with HPA I can't even get full auto with the stock hoses. I can get 10-15 BPS with the 1/8"

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

Got them for mt rt and it is great plus it is only 22 bucks for the rt kit and 5 or 6 for each banjo if it is just for the cyclone on tippmannparts.com so... what could it hurt to find out, you could just resell it here if you dont like it :/

To the one person who said it hurts it:

Why do think it hurts it? I have noticed nothing but inprovement and was wondering what you were thinking.

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

Are you talking about for the R/t or the cyclone?

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

I use 3/32" FTW!

I wasnt getting enough power to the cyclone on my A5 with the 1/8" and the 1/16" was just restrictive.

My 98, when I had the r/t and cyclone, I ran 3/32" hoses and fittings except with a 1/16" fitting on the r/t instead of the flow adjuster. the 1/8" kit gave me issues of my cyclone not cycling. Probably because there was too much volume with too little pressure to expand. So I restricted the r/t side and shrunk the size of my cyclone side and that just happens to work out for me.

I forgot to mention I am running LP on both guns. Around 300-350psi on both guns.

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

Being the 1/8 hose is so thick and un-bending it pulls and binds the tube then binds the rod and ratchet. I wore out two TechT lighting rod O-rings because of the stiffness of the 1/8 hose.

Maybe with thinner wall tube or softer plastic in the 1/8 tube it would work better. I went back to stock and never looked back and have not had any problem with tube binding.

With the binding sometimes the cyclone would not snap back after air pushed the rod and ratchet forward.

As far as air I did not notice any difference.

Re: 1/8" Banjo and Hoses: Worth it or not?

The 1/8 has worked great for me. Much better airflow allowing faster ROF. Every time I went auto with the stock hose, I couldn't get over about 13-15 bps without it having to recharge.
