Tech T Lightning Rod Worn!

Hi all,I played a full day on Saturday, all went well until the afternoon,I started having jams and misfeeds constantly, turned my cyclone into a blender.
when I got home I broke my marker down and documented everything, looking for the problem,I really thought it was due to the ratchet spring in the cyclone because it wouldn't cycle manually,I had to "snap" the manual feed to make it cycle.
after closely observing the action I noticed that there was an unusual amount of "play" on the lightning rod and ratchet, upon disassembly I saw exactly what the problem was..the hole for the lightning rod has worn out significantly,so much so that it causes misfeeds.
I took a few pics but my camera isn't that great for close ups so bear with me.
Todd,if you read this let me know if these rods are gauranteeed.Thanks.

I've install the original plastic rod and no problems.

Re: Tech T Lightning Rod Worn!

isn't there supposed to be a ring inside that hole on the lightning rod?

Re: Tech T Lightning Rod Worn!

Tippmangunner...I've used this rod for over a year.worked well until now.
Arkhams finest80....this is the first model that Todd released,I was one of the first to purchase it.the other models may have a bushing, though I couldn't say for certain,it's worked fine up to now.I am really surprised at how much wear there is,I didn't even think to check the other part for wear but I think I should.

Re: Tech T Lightning Rod Worn!

Looks like the bushing disappeared on you. Have you sent TechT an email yet?

No there was never any bushing, the hole was really small(for the pin to fit)that is the amount of wear that you see.amazing huh?

Re: Tech T Lightning Rod Worn!

I remember Todd saying this is the exact reason why they modified the Lightning Rod to include the bushing. Get that replaced with one that does have the bushing and you should be fine.
