A5 Issues

All, I just bought an A5 maybe a month ago...went out to a paintball field close by the air started leaking after three shots in the target range so ended up using a rental for the day. I took it back to the shop where I purchased it and he said oh its under warranty and its probably just a bad valve (even though its outofbox) so they replaced the part (charged me $15 for the labor) last weekend we went out again to another part and it did the same thing again but this time it was blowing the air out of the barrel and it started doing that after about 30 shots. One of the ref mentioned that it could be a blown up o ring. Any suggestions.

Re: A5 Issues

Washer first, then the o-ring, tombstone holds em together. if the entire valve assembly was replaced, wouldn't this then mean that the tombstone is to blame? anyone find this logic wrong?

Re: A5 Issues

Have you tryed lubing your tomb stone real good and make sure you don't over tighten what every you have screwed into your tombstone, asa adapter/regular etc. This will also cause the type of leak you described. Thats the main place I get leaks. Usually alittle oil takes care of the problem. And maybe also check your tombstone for factory defects.

Re: A5 Issues

Welcome to the forum.

I think we need more information to successfully help you.

You said that the second time air was coming out of the barrel. Where was it leaking from the first time? Was it gushing out fast, or was it a slow leak? Could you fire while it was like this?

If I was to guess, i'd say it may be an o-ring gone bad, or your valve.

Re: A5 Issues

The second time the air was gushing out fast and i was able to only fire one shot and that it started gushing out from the barrel. I have a CO2 tank which the field rep didnt recommened. He mentioned I should look into compressed air or N20.

The first time the air was leaking from the tombstone adapter and it was gushing out fast as well.

What do you guys recommend CO2 or N20 or compressed

Re: A5 Issues

The A5 will run fine with either co2, n2o or hpa.

With the co2 rushing out your barrel, i'd be inclined to pull the valve apart, inspect all the pieces, lube all the o-rings well and put it back together. Reassemble your marker, gas it up and test fire it.

Hope this helps.

Re: A5 Issues

When I first installed my low pressure kit I had the same issue... what i figured is that the inside of the valve wasnt lubed yet which wasnt letting the pin in the valve seat 100%. so what i did was i dropped a few drops of marker oil in the ASA, aired it up and fired it a bunch of times and the leak stopped.

You should give that a try. FYI... I had to shoot about 20 times before it stopped.

Re: A5 Issues

welcome to the forum.
replace the valve o ring.that should solve your problem.
Also, once you replace it & reassemble everything, screw on a full tank and spray every place there is an air source with a)water & small amount of dishsoap or,b)windex....if you see any bubbles, you have a leak there.
hope this helps...and don't be afraid to do it yourself, keep your manual close by and refer to it as needed.,or ask us
