Is it worth it?

Hey guys, well im kinda new to these forums but iv had my tippmann a5 since they were first brought out on the market and i love it. But iv never had any break downs on my cyclone feeder before. Well just recently i installed a R/T trigger unit, and since then iv found that it seems that when ever i pull the trigger 2 things happen, first it usually fires 3 shots even for a short tap of a pull *though i realize that this could take some getting use to* but over the last 2 days i have played iv found that if it fires 3 times on a pull, it seems like only 2 rounds will actually be fired out of the marker?? and the last time i was out playing it seemed like i was breaking paint in the chamber. not really in the barrel? but i never had any of these problems before the R/T. My thoughts might be that the stock cyclone may not be able to keep up to the R/T???

So the real question here is, if i buy a new cyclone kit, from ether TechT or Rap4 will it help out the problem??

Iv read in some of the posts that people have been having some problems with the Rap4 product, but is that on every one they produced? being as it is quite abit less it seems like a more viable option. or should i just go with the TechT if its that much better??

Sorry for all the newb questions, just trying to figure out what the best solution might be???

Thanks

Re: Is it worth it?

You could always just turn the R/T down a little... It does sound like you are just outshooting your cyclone.

I would just get some cyclone upgrades. General consensus does have the techt being the best and the rap4 having problems. Mine is neither, I think it was called tornado or something like that. I got it off ebay for about the same price as a rap4 upgrade and couldn't be happier with it.

Re: Is it worth it?

if you are going to go with cyclone upgrades, go with techt, rap4 products are know to be problematic (Cyclone mods being one of them) if you are going to invest money into anything go with where the quality is and what will last you longer.

My fav is the Lapco because out of all of them its the one that is easiest to set up. And it looks clean and nice!

Re: Is it worth it?

RAP4 is junk. First, the Upgrade Cyclone doesn't come with instructions. You have to watch their poorly made YOUTUBE How-To video. It goes really fast and is hard to see, please it has really annoying music on it. I bought the kit and the pins it came with didn't fit and the stock ones didn't fit either. Thier customer service is horrible also. I was to told to "Watch the video" when i asked if i could send it in for a new one. WEAK! I will never buy from RAP4 again!

Re: Is it worth it?

The JCS Jet click works well for me, but they don't make any other cyclone upgrades.

Re: Is it worth it?

Yes I have also heard that the Jet Click is easy to install. I have the Maddog Designz Speed Devil ratchet upgrade. It did not come with instructions but I found the Tech T instructions to be very much on par for even my Speed Devil upgrade. I also found that mine was easy to install as well. It comes with it's own pins and they look at first like they won't fit. But they are hollow inside for a reason. To make them fit. So a carpenter's hammer later, and bingo, a one wack with the hammer fit and not a scratch on the red annodizing

I must say it was fun knowing I could hit something for a change and not hurt it lol

Re: Is it worth it?

Techt: Vortex ratchet, Lightening rod, Paddles, QEPH housing
JCS: Jetclik
PPS: QEV
Wargear: Soft Paddles, Super Soft Paddles, Cyclone housing and bottom plates
New Designz: Ratchet, Rod, EVT piston housing
RAP4: Ratchet, Rod, Cyclone piston housing, Wargear paddle

Those are the various companies that make various cyclone parts.

The metallic rod upgrade I also found to not increase very much performance. Ratchet, paddles and a QEPH/EVT/QEV are the 3 main upgrades that add to performance.

Are you refering to the Lightning Rod? If so what about durability?

The lightening rod or any rod do not add much, if any performance, at all. The stock rod performances fine. I've heard more stories of aftermarket rods breaking. I have yet to hear a failure from the stock rod.
