That looks like you got a burr or a small rock got caught to put that groove in there. Definitely not even wear. I'm about to install the Jet Click and am now going to make sure I lube the crap out of it. Thanks for the heads up.

You better unbend or take the burr off that spring! Seriously, I never had a groove worn in any of my plastic axles; even after many ratchet replacements. It might be because its aluminum but I doubt that the plastic is less prone to wear then the aluminum replacement. The spring really has little tension as it glides over the axle. That just don't look right to me, 500 rounds isn't much. Maybe the pic makes it look worst (to me) then it really is. I will be checking my Jet Click religiously for a while after I install it.

Re: Techt Vortex wear after 500 rounds ...

seems like there was something in the vortex instructions about it wearing a small groove and that it actually help the cyclone to cycle faster.

The TechT install instructions say that it WILL wear in a grove and that is NORMAL... just keep it lubed.

Re: Techt Vortex wear after 500 rounds ...

Straightened anti return spring a little seams to let cyclone cycle easier and no wear yet.

Re: Techt Vortex wear after 500 rounds ...

Ive done something like 8000+ rounds on my vortex and that groove is normal as stated above. Even lightening that little spring will not stop that grooving. Lube does help and eventually the groove will max out. You might not notice that groove on plastic because the plastic sort of snaps back into shape almost like rubber in a way but the metal stays dented in.
