Idea Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

This is one problem I've found to have with my cyclone. Some claim that this has fixed thier problems while others say there isn't a difference. It is however worth a try if your cyclone isn't working. It's easy to do. I just don't want you thinking this is going to fix all your problems.

Tools Needed:

>Flathead Screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Figuring out what's wrong

This is what your standard screw that connects your cyclones macro-line to your marker. There is a hole drilled throught center that is there to allow the extra gas from firing your A-5 to make it up to the macro-line and then itno the cyclone. The outside of the exit whole is caved in a bit to let the air move around it and into the macro-line regardless of the exit holes position. This however doesn't always seemed to be carved out correctly causing air-flow problems. The fix is very simple.

2.Fixing it.
As you can see with this picture, the exit hole is perpendicular to that the grove cut out for your screwdriver to go. Now, all you have to do is line up the hole with your macroline. When finished it should look like so:

and

Like I said, it may or may not fix your problem. However, it is worth a try. Good luck!

p.s. Sorry for the huge pictures... I'm to lazy to resize them.

PBJ Time Re: Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

One thing that gets over looked a lot is the o-ring that is located inside of the push rod for the feeder. This will cause the cyclone not to feed properly or miss feeding due to a tiny leak. I went all the way through mine and finally replaced the push rod o-ring and that corrected all of my feed problems. Just unscrew the push knob and push the rod out of the shell, it is a very simple problem to fix and is the same o-ring that fits in your remote line where the quick disconnect is. (asually green) or luck

Re: Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

I've heard opinions both ways about this tip so I decided to try it myself to see if it makes any difference. For some reason, I can't get the slot perpendicular as suggested. No matter how many times I back out the screw and retry. Oh well, just thought I'd give my .02 worth.

Re: Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

With a banjo bolt it should'nt make any difference what direction the hole is facing. That's the reason for its design.

Re: Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

This probably fixed my issue with hpa. I did not get the cyclone to do load correctly when i had my hpa kit, but with c02 it was fine.

After aligning the banjo it now seems to load as it should.

Re: Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

I totally dis-assembled my cyclone for the first time tonight. I have to say that it seems to be shooting better and maybe a little hotter. One of the banjo fittings was only finger tight, so maybe I was losing a little air. I gave all the moving parts and o-rings a coating of slick honey. (slickoleum) I made sure to pull up the paddles and coat the bottoms and the post they sit on. Man I swear by that stuff with this A5; they go together like beans and rice!

Re: Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

So I have been trying to line up the banjo bolts for maximum air flow but cannot seem to get them lined up the way they are shown in the pics, the only way I have been able to do it is by not screwing them all the way in tight. Can anyone help me with this issue ? Am I doing something wrong ?

Re: Cyclone Troubles? A Possible Solution:

Heh,

Contrary to the original post my banjo bolt has the hole and the screwdriver slot parallel to each other as opposed to perpendicular.
