| Tactical Paintball is on IH-10 in Harwood, Texas. One and a half hours from San Antonio, and one hour each from Houston, and Austin. I've been playing at this field for a year now, and thought it was time to let Texas players know a little more about it. Pricing: Paintball field entry and/or rental: Free Airsoft field entry: $20.00 All day HPA/CO2: $15.00 Field only paint: $55.00/case Field paint is Blackops Premium, a top grade paint/shell mix specifically formulated for woodsball. Flatline users love this stuff. Main Area: There is a camping area, with 10 army canvas tents (soon to double), and enough room for parking, trailers, and tents, for over 300 players. 20amp hitching poles are available for electrical hookups. Plenty of portable toilets's are provided. The warehouse for tacticalmarkers.com is on site, so any tactical gear and parts that can be found in their catalog are available. Both the field owner, and the field manager live on site. They are extremely helpful, and do their best to ensure all players have everything they need to have a good day of fun. Fields: Tactical Paintball has 120 acres of woods. It was designed by players, to give scenario paintball, and airsoft players, a much needed place to play games in tactical situations. There are two flood lit speedball fields (hyperball, and airball) off to the side and out of the way. I gave Tactical Paintball a score of 9/10 for field upkeep, because these two fields are sometimes in a little disrepair. Out in the 120 acres of woods are the following objective points; The MOUT. This is a 36 building city, consisting of one and two story buildings. The angles of each building, and their doors and windows, were planned meticulously on a table top, to provide all manner of fire angles, cover, and blockage of view points. A road passes through the middle of the MOUT, with a downed huey helo in the center. There are plans to double the city in size during 2007. Firebase Alpha, (a sand bag firebase, complete with mortar pits, guard tower, and a huey helo.) Whiskey Outpost, (an all steel recreation of the Starship Troopers outpost on Planet P) Vietnam Village, Fuel Dump, Comms site, SAM site, and a three story sniper tower. More is being constructed each year. Other Goodies: Speaker systems have been set up around the main parts of the field. These are used to play very distracting sounds of explosions and gunfire during scenario games. There are also telephone hookups throughout the field that can be used to connect the old hand generator field phones during ops. The field has three, two person Fast Attack Vehicles with double paintball guns mounted on swivels. The field also has a small scale tank (images) in the likeness of the M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier. An eight wheel all terrain vehicle that can carry five players into battle. It has four paintball guns mounted on its turret. It also has an array of night vision, and thermal imaging cameras for the driver. Games: There are always plenty of 12 hour, and 24 hour paintball scenarios happening at the field. The 12 hours are usually the most fun. These are run by field owner, and he likes to incorporate a lot of historical role playing, props, and rules to add a little more realism to the game. As an example, the past Battle for Khe San, saw the NVA using bicycles to carry their sacks of grain, and 40 gallon drums of water, down the Ho Chi Min trail. I'll go out on a limb and say it was a lot of fun shooting those guys... ![]() The airfsoft boys are usually out there once a month. Conclusion: Great fields, excellent design and construction, friendly smiles. Theres nothing else like it in Texas.

| Re: Tactical Paintball I've reffed at that field, and I've played with the Field Manager, GoldDog.... It's a great TIGHT field - excellent CQB place!! And GoldDog is a stand-up player as well as a great manager - he works very hard to make sure everybody there is in it and having a good time. It is alsoone of the most SAFETY-MINDED fields I have been to. When I was reffing the Jan 2005 Mogadishu game, I was walking through the field about an hour before game-on just to get used to the layout. I found a lot of loose nails from where they put the builkdings together. I called GoldDog on the radio and told him about it, and he pushed the game-on time back so all of the refs and field staff could check ALL of the buildings and make sure we got them up. Nice call !! --TAG-- |

| Re: Tactical Paintball Jan 13th 2007 Best Paintball Sniper Challenge was won by James 'Stormin' Nannery of the Death Jesters. (I think I know that guy... Stormin will be leading the Texans to victory in Vipers 2nd Annual Alamo Siege at the Bunkers. Yeah, thats right. Victory! He's holding his first place prize. A Miltec MT-65 dressed as a 50cal and anodized in ACU colors. ![]() Jan 14th 2007 Battle for Mogadishu was declared a draw after the game was called, due to bad weather, after four hours of play. |
