| Linglestown paintball 5974 Linglestown Road Linglestown, Pennsylvania 17112 USAhttp://www.linglestownpaintball.com/ This field was formerly known as the Foxhole. like the phoenix it is rising form the ashes. The Foxhole was sold by the original owner, Don several years ago. This "new owner" ran the field and business into the ground. The fields were very neglected and some services were missing by the time it was bankrupt. This is important to this review because of some of the review posted else where on the web. Last fall Don returned and with his return most of the old staff and regulars have returned. There is DAILY field improvements through this spring! One area that need improvement is the access road. It is a bit torn up but even this is improving now. This is a rec ball/ scenario based field. If you are a speed ball player you are better off going to Wanna play paint ball in Dillsburg, PA. Tourney attitude is not tolerated on this field. It is geared to walk ons and woods ball players. Its REFs and staff as well as regular players are highly safety conscious, in a laid back sort of way. They are not intrusive but they will enforce there safety policy vigorously. Usually violation of safety rules goes WARNING, TEN minutes in a PENALTY chair (public humiliation is good for the sole) and then EXPULSION. Rules are common and common sense. A 10 foot rule is always in effect. Over shooting someone is also not to be done. It is very friendly to family's, first timers. Go here with the attitude of helping new comers to paintball and pay attention to the fields rules and you will be fine. Rentals are BT4s some camo is available, There is a concession stand on site that serves the now famous slop dog. There is water, pop, hot dogs and burgers available as well. There is a air smith usually on site that can do basic repairs. More involved repairs are carried out at the pro shop which is off site. There is now HPA and CO2 air refills on site. Field fees are $15 with your own equipment. $70 for rentals and paint. Paint runs $45 a case, This field is field paint only, it is usually Diablo or Stinger. Sometimes a premium paint is available. REF's and regulars are on the look out for foreign paint as this is where the money comes from to pay for improvemnts and to undo the previous neglect. (more on that in a second) REFs carry spare co2 cylinders usually 8 or 12 oz to keep you in the field if you run out mid game! The focus is on everyone having a good safe time. Linglestown paintball also has a airsoft group that plays there frequently. See C3 airsoft.com for more information on this. Airsoft is subject to field fees and C3's safety rules. Fields: At the time of the review Linglestown is up over 12 fields and more are planned. The interim owner neglected all parts of property. Some earlier reviews show this. Currently this is not the case. New fields are being opened on a weekly basis. The old fields are undergoing significant renovation making them better than ever. By far the best field currently is TRENCHES. This is a very large attack defend field that is slightly up hill for the attacker. The whole field is wooded, In addition to the common wooden fighting position bunkers this field has a three tier interconnected trench lines with multiple underground bunkers with firing positions! At the top of the hill/ end of the trench line is a large command bunker touch the flag hanging here and you win glory. There is enough field on either side that the trenches can be flanked if you are fast or really sneaky. The rest of the fields are well thought out and are constantly under improvement. There are two semi speed ball fields if that is your thing, Roll O the dice and SAN Jaun Hill. Thare are currently two semi urban fields, 90% of the fields are either wooded or battlefields complete with fighting positions and shell craters. Overall this field is a 9 out of 10 only because it is going to improve further for scenario and woodsball players. It is a 6 out of 10 if you like tourney and speedball. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
