Re: Problem solved for Flatline vs Apex question

I am thinking you might achieve a flight path not unlike a trick baseball pitch from Bugs Bunny...up, down, loop-the-loop, drop, then shoot up!

Re: Problem solved for Flatline vs Apex question

If the shell doesn't shred on contact with the Apex, you'll likely just impart extra backspin. This will put too much lift on the ball, making it curve up, stall, and drop nearly straight down. If you've ever watched a golf ball flight, it will be similar to that.

i think someone said something about this awhile ago, and it would just go nearly straight up because of MAD backspin, although, you could set the Apex upside down, and put it all the way on, canceling out the backspin and giving you a normal shot with a flatline!!!

most pointless thing ever!!

Re: Problem solved for Flatline vs Apex question

I'd fifth but that would just be spam.

I don't think it would work (properly) but it would be amusing anyways. Just be sure to use paint with a nice bright shell so we can see it.
*eagerly awaits*

I think it's going to soup, and you'll be cleaning an apex and the tip of a flatline

Re: Problem solved for Flatline vs Apex question

Considering it has extra backspin, could you set the velocity higher than the usual ~275, so you get more speed AND more distance?

I actually dont see it blowing paint up since the apex is attached onto the flatline like any other barrel. Even on the stock apex barrel, there is a gap between the actual ramp and the barrel.

Like some have said, I think it will just end up floating a little more upwards if anything. I wouldnt be surprised if it just shoots like a standard apex since the ball is already rolling in a certain direction, I dont think the apex will impart "additional" spin to the ball since its already move at a constant velocity.

I will have to test it out for you guys though.
