Re: Paintball Pants - Digi Woodland

man i'm in miami and in the same boat. i have actual marpat BDU's which unless we play really early or really late in the day i have a horrible time using the tops. the pants are really not an issue for me but the top with my vest is what kills me. not too long ago we were playing in the woods and i was wearing the full set, it was around 1pm and i actually almost passed out from the heat. had to sit out for a few games and drink lots of water. can you say i cant wait for winter?!?!

i've been forced to wear marpat tshirts under my vest and bare arm shots SUCK! and so does crawling on the ground in the woods something i do alot! i found the new "combat shirts" from over seas in actual marpat. those shirts are suppost to breathe really well but they only sell them in multicam here in the states that i've been able to find anyways. however with the shipping this is almost a $100 shirt which is not on my top list of priorities right now. although i will order them eventually.

Combat Shirts*-*Krukspec

honestly the most effective way that me and my friends have found to beat the heat is to just do early morning games or late afternoon games. and "pray for winter" lol which even though in miami means 15 days of 60 degree weather it will sure as hell be a nice relief

Re: Paintball Pants - Digi Woodland

At this point the paintball pants would be my personal option. The rip-stop pants I had a pair. They were also made by Tru-Spec and they bled the color right out. From what I am told the ones made by Propper do not seem to have this trouble.

The SO digi has too much green in it. MARPAT Woodland has mostly brown in it. This is why they issue assault vests in Coyote Brown in the MC, because it's also some what in the desert MARPAT as well. They don't have to buy two sets of the same vest just to match camo That's the advantage of issuing subdued colors for "soft gear" such as vests.

But I too own official issue MARPAT. But it's not called a BDU. It's called the MCCUU (Marine Corp Combat Utility Uniform) Long I know but that's what it's called. I love my MCCUU and I've played in 95 degree heat high humidity with it for 5 hours at the most.

Re: Paintball Pants - Digi Woodland

Here's what I did. I love MARPAT.

Propper Digital Woodland Pants
SO Omnipat Fusion 7 (lightweight) Jersey
Leapers Digital Woodland Web (Molle) Vest

I asked guys how this looked out in the field and they said it was effective, multiple patterns broke my shape even more and the colors were close enough that they look decent together. (Eventually, got the Omnipat Fusion 7 pants but the inseam is a little high on them tight in the jewels, even though I had plenty of room in the waist and needed to use the belt.

Just a though for you and a real-life pic. I know the pic is sideways but I wanted to leave it large enough so you could tell....save it and rotate.

Re: Paintball Pants - Digi Woodland

Yeah the best cammies that seem to blend in with Omnipat are reportedly Multicam, I have a full set of Propper Multicam ACU style cammies and I have my mask covered by the Special Ops Omnipat mask cover. Best thing I ever did, the material is mesh and blends right in very nicely with my Multicam and it allows my mask to breathe. I bought another mask that was very wll ventilated so that it would likely breathe right. It did especially with the thermal lense and JT lense cleaner. I had problems at frist till a veteran friend gave me the tip "spray on the inside then let it dry and you won't have problems with your thermal goggles."

I don't even bother taking the mask cover off.

But MARPAT is really great for me to use in the summer for me personally.

Can't wait to get my Multicam custom vest from Special Ops They are in the process of making it at the moment.
