Re: Best camo pattern. True, back doesn't occure in nature ( execpt under water, and lava rock ) but some of the shadows appear pretty black to me. I prefer a little back in my camo, because in the woods of WI, the ACU looks almost like desert camo. Way to light, and not enough green.

Re: Best camo pattern. I have been using the digital woodland for a couple of weeks. the group I play with has told me when I am on the ground and waiting for them to come into my line of fire they cant see me. I am going to use Wookie's methond to paint my face mask and finish painting my marker. Once you make contact camo is almost useless. Camo is great to help with the element of surprise but once the element of surprise is gone you have to fight it out or fall back and try to regain the upper hand.

I like a little "back" in my camo too. It really hurts getting hit in the bare skin. I can only imagine getting hit bare butted. ![]()

Re: Best camo pattern. Any one here had any sucess with the "flecktarn" camo, it's a really old style camo, dating back to before WW2, but for me in the woods during the winter, autum and spring months, it's really effective. And it looks really cool off the field aswell ![]()

Re: Best camo pattern. well in the woods up here in midnorth Ontario realtree is the best 'cover' patterns hands down. CadPats are the best digis for up here- In the fall I switch to either Flectarn or Alpenflauge - both good in the changing leaves. My camos for play double for hunting so I have several different colours and styles ![]() Alpenflauge or Swiss version of flectarn is good for fall http://www.globalarmysurplus.com/pro...=23&cat_main=1 Last edited by ResOps : 10-12-2006 at 01:07 PM.

Re: Best camo pattern. Personally I dont feel the "camo" pattern is as important as simple combat and placement knowledge is. If you can setup an ambush and your wearing any camo to match your surrounding area then you should be able to "make" an efficient cover to conceal yourself. The key to paintball isnt loading down in camoflauge, it's called individual angles(aka flanking). Catch your opponent from an angle and make him concentrate his fire in more then a 90 degree angle... if you get an opponent firing 180 degrees or more then many will get flustered and fall back or be eliminated. But being as this question is about camo... The Military used woodland BDU's for 30+ years to fool enemies so Im sticking with what works. Woodland BDU pants and the famous Under Armor long sleeve turf gear.

| Re: Best camo pattern. For an overall camo pattern, I'd have to go with MultiCam. I've seen it in action and I've gotta say... it works really well. BUT I also like Alpenflage. Sure, it's got red in it, but it actually blends in with a lot of different terrain fairly well.

There was a modern marvels on the history channel about the new digi camo. Well the devolopers of the new stuff said they found that the camo they had been using made them stand out more. They specifically mentiond the woodland and said the "Iraq war era desert was the worse."
