| Re: Paintball in the rain? Yeah I haven't played in the rain but I want to. I don't have a poncho and to be honest I don't want one I'll play without it.

| Re: Paintball in the rain? I was part of a large scenario event where it thunderstormed and rained in the morning. I found large rain drops in the tree to sound like paintballs dropping all around you so it was really intense. I was using my A5 without e-grip that morning so I had no issues with marker performance. I think the biggests problem that people are going to have is with their lenses fogging and traction in mud. A nice thermal lense and some cleats should solve those problems.. Play on.. Last edited by heavyfinger : 09-06-2008 at 12:43 PM. |

| Re: Paintball in the rain? I have done this about three times, hated it. Lens is a non issue for me. It puts a damper (no pun intended) on the day and the cry babies that tag along don't seem to like it either. I play 100 miles away so once I'm there I'm there. Next time I'm canceling if there is a trip planned and the guy on tv calls for rain. I rather it be 30 below than play in the rain, sun or not.

| Re: Paintball in the rain? Yes I play in the rain, a hurrican maybe not, but a nice strong down pour will allow you to walk right past people who won't hear you and take nice props back to your commander. The only thing I worry about is dry paint so my markers won't shoot like a spary can. I have played at the Russian Front at SP in Conn. and I had my A5 sitting barrel down for like 3 hours while I ran around the field with my pistol doing recon and prop collection and when I went back to my A5 it shoot fine. Yes it was Feburary and there was either wet snow or rain coming down all day. ok, first I thought this was a joke with it being on A5OG. I mean seriously, I never had an issue with an A5 in the rain. Or a 98, X7, Carbin, or C3. Except for maybe the slight possiblity of it being completly submurged in a pond, river, or lake. Just about any tippmann marker works well in any condition. Even my Tiberius can last in the rain. The general for the Aliens at the X7 game this past weekend had a PMRail out in the rain of TS Henna at Skirmish, and the guys from HelKats had their Egos out in the rain . . . that is like a $1100 marker too. Think about this . . . what is found in the paintball? now imagin your e-trigger marker being hit by a burst from someone. All that paint with all that water down in the electronics of your marker . . . and it still works. If your worried about the rain then get a Vibe or an SP1 . . . no I do not own one and I surly don't work for them. However, they were designed to be just about water prof with exception of complete submergance in a body of water. P.S. all of you A5/X7 owners want a nice water proff board then get a Rampage board, they too were supposed to be resistant to exposure to water. |
