A5 Stealth or build my own?

Hi guys, new to A5OG!

I currently run a WGP VF Tactical using HPA, and I've been thinking of getting an A5/X7/mil-sim marker because I miss having a stock and sights. I play mostly woodsball, both on the field and outlaw, so I don't mind having a bigger marker.

My friend has offered to sell me his A5 Stealth because he's moved to a SP1 setup, and he's asking for about $330CAD (280USD) for it. Comes with the A5 stock endcap, too, and the gun has just been used once or twice.

Is this a good deal, or should I just start from scratch? I really like the idea of having the Flatline barrel (but I might get the Palmer's Brass barrel as well), and I'm probably going to try to mod it to look like a Diemaco C7 or C8 (Canadian version of the M16A2) to match my olive drab Canadian-issue camo.

Thoughts?

Re: A5 Stealth or build my own?

IMO its always fun to start with nothing and build your gun they way you want it. Buying an A-5 with a remote hose, stock, and flatline would cost more if purchased seperately.

By the way, welcome to the OG. Lots of info here. Use the search function. And whenever you get that A-5 remember "Washer first, then oring. Tombstone holds them in place."

IMO you should start from scratch. It's always nice to have a choice. If you live in Canada you'll hate flatline during winter/cold time --- beaks paint and you would have to get out field to properly clean it.

Re: A5 Stealth or build my own?

If your going to get a flatline anyways it is probably worth it. You can always mod an a5 regardless of the starting settup. If your not going to use the flatline though, its cheaper to get a basic setup and the barrell you want.

Re: A5 Stealth or build my own?

sounds like a deal, I paid $600 NZ for my a5/ r/trigger/ flatline/ bottle/ case package, he paid $800 NZ and used it twice, if you dont like the flat line you can swap or sell it!
