Has anyone ordered an A5 from TippmannPros.com recently? I just received mine, and the cyclone paddles and barrel don't look like the typical A5 stock parts - they are definitely different from the ones came with the A5 I bought a few years back.

So does anyone know: is Tippmann including different parts with its stock marker, or did I get a little bonus here?

this was discussed in a post here titled "Not as advertized"

tippman change the design of a few things

to name few:
#1 the stock barrel is no longer ported at 4" (the original stock barrel was only suitible for throwing at the enemy as a distraction device) although it's still a tippmann stock barrel - so replace it with a suitible nice replacement as soon as you can.

#2 The did something with the Cyclone feed internals to try and make them more durable - jury is still out on that.

#3 they changed the finish on the paint to a more durable, textured finish. (early model A5s had a thick matte black finish that had a tendancy to bubble and peel - especialy if stored with any paint residue on it. )

Thanks for the info - I knew the finish was different, but didn't realize the stock barrel and cyclone were updated too.

heh i was wondering the same thing in the summer when i got mine, also they changed the rear mp5 style sight from metal *the older old ones to plastic* as well as a few other parts, i routed through my old a5 and took all the old school metal parts, the only thing i can never figure out is why tippmann doesnt make a better push pin, that dont break in half with a stock or the retainer spring breaks.

yep looks exactly like what mine came with. got mine in August this year

Those are X7 cyclone paddles. They use to be a "upgrade" back in the day before aftermarket paddles. The older stock paddles are much harder and broke more paint. I switched to the X7 paddles with no cyclone breaks. It got even better when the techt squishy paddles came out.

Yeah I noticed the push pin thing too...I've never had a problem with the push pins on my old A5 (one with all the old parts and finish)...on my new one two of the retension spings have already broken on the push pins when I put the PDW stock on. Could this be a change too?

No, the push pins seemed to have always been an issue. Some are lucky (i've never broken a single one), but others have just too hard a time.

Funny, I noticed the rear sights switch from metal to plastic to. I also switched out the metal one on my older backup A5 for use in my newer primary A5. I prefer as much of my gun as possible be metal, can't stand plastic on a Tippmann. I wish they had a magnesium cyclone loader shell to replace the plastic shell with, oh well!
