| Re: What should I do? i've always been a fan of the male configuration for a palmer stabilizer. although, there's no preformance difference between andy of them. its all mountiung preference. you will find the palmer works much better then that x-chamber. partly because the x-chamber doesn't actually do anything anyways ![]() |

| Re: What should I do? Well, the only reason I have a expansion chamber is I used to run my A-5 off of CO2 and was looking for the shots per fill. Now I run off of HPA and the field I go to doesn't charge for fills on air but it does on CO2. I just want nice consistancy with air so that is why I'm looking at investing in a stabilizer. (or two)

| Re: What should I do? I was just wondering, would there actually be ANY reason to get both male and female stabilizers? Would you really need to reregulate regulated air, or does it actually have that much of an effect if both are installed on your gun?

| Re: What should I do? Well, if you are running HPA and had both a male and female Palmers, you'd actually be running a tripple regulated system. That would be overkill in my view. I'd consider a dual system if I wanted the same fps with every shot using CO2, but with one Palmers and the reg on your HPA tank, you will be just fine...within 2 fps every shot (very close if not).

| Re: What should I do? Well, ditching the X-Chamber is a good idea. They don't do anything. Secondly, if you have HPA, or can easily get HPA, then I'd go with that first over the stabilizer. However, if HPA is not an option, or even a future option, then dual regging your marker is the best. If you plan on upgrading to HPA in the future, then you should be okay with one regulator. I personally like the look of the male set-up, but there are some very interesting ways to mount an inline or female stabilizer that may for you. The way you mount it is all personal preferance. All stabilizer will perform the same. Anyways, this will probably help you out the most: Stabilizer FAQ Good luck! -Marmaduke

| Re: What should I do? I know the trend is towards regulators, and in some cases more than one, but here's my $.02. First, if you're not running CO2 anymore, ditch the expansion chamber. If you've already bought HPA, just run it like that! If you've got a decent reg on your HPA, you're already dealing with a regulated source. I used to run a palmer male setup on CO2. When I switched to HPA I left it on. Over the chrono I was getting 2 to 3 fps spreads. Then I thought hmmmmmm I wonder what it would be like without the palmer. Guess what... no real difference. The only thing the stabilizer gave me was a different way of adjusting my velocity (and maybe just a few more shots per bottle). I decided that it was easier to adjust speed with an RVA. Spend your money on a nice chunk of palmer brass - more bang for the buck! All that being said, if you're running CO2 a palmer is the single best thing you can do for your marker. |
