Action Cam on your A5

I am attaching this to my barrel:

...wondering if anyone has done this here? I attached it to my flatline and it seems to hold with the velcro strip it came with but if anyone else has any suggestions

it'd be appreciated.

Have you thought about mounting it to your mask instead? Or do you prefer the barrel? Most people mount them to their masks because when it's mounted to your barrel, it tends to get more action of the ground than anyting else.

I thought of that, in fact I was thinking of having two cams, one on the barrel and one on the mask... opposite sides. When editing, you get two views.

Am just starting the thought process, not yet settled on anything. I guess on top of a helmet would just be too high.

Two cameras, never thought of that. It would make for some awesome footage.

Won't it be heavy on one side of your mask though...

I mounted one to my A5 flatline battleshroud.

A little dremelling and some effort has it solidly mounted and works well. If you're still "shopping" I have footage from this camera. I also have a different style helmet cam that may give you some idea of what to look for. PM and I'll send you links to video files.

I later used video software to put the gun-cam as "picture-in-picture". (the screen shot is compressed but you get the idea)

I'll be glad to help with any info you might need.

NICE! How did you mount it... I have it already, but am using "ghetto" velcro straps

My buddy has the exact same camera and we have tested it on 2 separate outings so far. The first he mounted it on the gun and as someone mentioned, there were a lot of ground shots.... this last time, he mounted it on the side of his mask which was better but the view was obscured in some instances when he was peeking around a corner or tree..... we're gonna try it on top of his head next time to see if he gets better footage. Hopefully that will allow for more consistant video of what's really going on. I just wish there was better sound capture on those things.
