Re: Action Cam on your A5

Man, now I really want to get me one of those.... My team does videos of most games we do, and a shot like that would be awesome.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

inkblue,

Looks like you had a good time. It does take some practice - yo don't want to alter your gameplay for video - but you don't want the video to stink either! I know there are certain trade-offs. Looks like you were having fun though! So are you sticking with the velcro mount for now?

Re: Action Cam on your A5

Thanks. Yes, you have to change the way you play and be aware you have a cam on. I kept pointing my marker down hence the ground shots.

I think the velcro held up well... for now. So until I can find a better alternative, I'll use that.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

I just the the ATC3K and set it up on the bottom side of my barrel. I took Camoform wrap (that I have on my barrel already) and wrapped a section to make it real thick. Probably went around the barrel 6 or 7 times. Took the handlebar mount and attached it there. The Camoform wrap acted as sort of a mini-shock absorber. You still get some shake when I fire, but not bad. The angle I have it set to, you can just see the tip of the barrel so it looks pretty cool. It works for what I want it to do. I may try a mask mount...

The ATC3K actually shoots better than I expected. You have to remember most of what you see on the web has been converted to a different format to be web compatible. The raw AVI looks great on the computer screen, not at full-screen, remember the res is 640 x 480, so if you go full screen and your screen is 1024, it is going to become distorted. Like I said, I love it for what I am using it for...if I get a chance, I will post up some snaps, once I get better editing software.

Awesome Whisky! I'm looking forward to seeing the video! I enjoy going back and reliving some of the glory moments. Would like to see your setup too.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

Why are cameras like this have such crappy resolutions? Don't they make anything that is around 1280x1024 or so? As long as the recording device is able to handle it, I don't see what the problem would be.

Anyone seen the James Cameron movie "Strange Days"? They had cameras that could fit underneath your clothes and a lot scenes were filmed using that method. They had no problem with resolution.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

They are budget cameras ...it is up to the individual to spend as much as they want for the quality they perceive to be best for them.
