The alcohol will evaporate and leave things fairly clean. However, because the mic is on the bottom of the camera - you're less likely to get a direct hit to the mic.

Cool, I just spoke with my buddy and he wants to give it a shot. Did you say you had a link to a how-to?

SuperOx,

Googling "ATC2K waterproof membrane" go me to this.

Utah Trikes Tip - Modifying the ATC-2000 camera for better audio and video

Here is the disassembled flatline. The second hole on the left is where the bolt goes through into the shroud. You can also see how I notched out the bottom of the plastic quick mount. Isn't beautiful but it is solid:

Here the rail is screwed into the shroud and you can see how flush the quick mount sits:

Now... on the opposite site I drilled another hole to get the nut-driver through because I couldn't get needle-nose or anything else in there to hold the nut. For me... this isn't a big deal as the battleshroud rails cover this hole (see next photo - opposite the nut):

From the inside - you can see the nut (and washer) that hold the quick mount in place:

This is on the marker:

I hope this helps... let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

I will have to get some pics of mine. I have a really compact camera that looks like a scope with the cover I made for it. I'm running a Samsung SC-X105L with a 2Gig memory card. THe camera worked great mounted over my barrel. It took me some getting used too but I managed to keep it on the action for most of the footage. Shy of moving at a dead run. The problem I had was my battery went bad allready and no one makes a decent replacement that will run for more then 30 mins on a charge.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

The two camera idea is pretty good, but if you are going to go with one camera I will also suggest a mask mounted one. Having watched my share of footage I can honestly say that still shots are great from the marker, but action shots are best from the mask.

Also there are some systems out there that you can put on your real firearm that takes a picture every time you pull the trigger. This would work out great for paintball IMHO.

Good luck and I always enjoy watching good POV paintball footage. It kind of makes you feel as if you are there playing.... even when you can't get out of the house or away from work.

I used the mounts that it came with for my barrel and snaped it off second game out diving into a bunker. Now i have it mounted on my helmet with the plate mount and zip ties, and it took a little bit line it up right but after a bunch of tinkering i finnally got it. Love the camera tho the quallity is good.

Exclamation Re: Action Cam on your A5

...that means I would have to mount it on the left side of my mask coz the hopper might block the view, but I'm right handed

Re: Action Cam on your A5

the only way I would recommend a top of the goggle camera is if it were a small 19mm-22mm sized.

This is how mine is mounted on my visor... I find that it gives me a nice field of view over the heads of most players and will clear most hoppers.

I agree that this is best way to do it for a goggle mount. The ATC2K can be a little bulky and may not work like you want it to, bouncing around on a goggle. The 19mm-22mm bullet cameras are great but they have their own set of issues (a recorder etc) but I agree - for on-goggle footage the smaller bullet cameras with a remote recorder work great.

This is my camera mounted on top of the "lens ridge"

These are some frames from the video associated with this shot

Another one hitting the end of my barrel - good shot!

Its a lot of fun to go back through the video and see some of the action. Keep in mind - these still shots came from footage from a bullet camera with a high resolution CCD sensor - NOT the ATC2K at the beginning of this thread.

again... anybody interested in sample footage from either camera - lemme know.
