I agree... I think that a scope mount would be too small - the camera body actually has a good amount of bulk to it. I have a few ideas but my camera is on loan to somebody else at the moment, so it will be a little bit before I can come up with any useful suggestions.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

Latest vid mounted on the same X7 but with an 8-inch Lapco Apex-Ready barrel instead on the 12-inch one... seems to shake less for some reason. With this, I upped the eGrip to 23BPS

Action Cam on an X7

Re: Action Cam on your A5

what kind of cam is that and what kind of power do you use? a belt/vest power pack?I've been intrigued by this for quite some time, and I want to mount one on my mask.though your shoulder mount is a great idea.

Beserker,

There are a couple of types of cameras being talked about in this thread but the ATC2K (pictured in the first post) and the ATC3K referred to by Patriot14t20 that he intends to mount on his shoulder - are both self-contained. The batteries and SD card are both on-camera therefore it doesn't require a seperate battery pack.

The other bullet cameras DO require a battery pack that is typically kept with the recorder in a backpack, pouch, vest pocket etc.

I hope that helps.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

and if you're mounting on a mask odds are you want one of the ones with a separate battery pack, because the self contained ones are stupidly big for that.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

if it were me i'd buy a rail mounted scope ring or something to that effect... i'm not the biggest truster of velcro it seems like it would be solid enough.

This certainly won't fit on your shroud - but it'd likely clear the apex if you did something like this with your "handlebar" mount that came with your camera. It's a thought anyway.

Re: Action Cam on your A5

Had a chance to go out and play a little paintball with the nephews and some of their friends this weekend. Here's a near miss that almost took me out of the game. This sequence was pulled from my bullet cam referenced in previous posts.

I'll see if I have any more good shots - this one was particularly vivid. The ball broke on the brush just feet in front of me.
