Streamline air system?

After playing 2 big games in 2 weekends,I'm disappointed with my A5's performance, specifically the air consumption,it's a real gas hog!I found myself filling up every 400 shots or so,and I use a 72/3000!
I know,I know,you guys will say I have a leak,
well the first weekend, after play,I tested with a soapy solution, examined the o rings with a magnifying glass, checked all my hoses and connections, everything is peachy.

ok,the next weekend, same thing for about half the morning, then my remote acquires a slow leak via the slide check,I think to myself "great I found the problem,it sucks about the remote, but at least I now know".Wrong.I put my tank directly on the gun and played the rest of the day like that, but had to fill up every 400-500 shots.
Again,retest like I previously stated,still cannont detect a leak.

What I want to know is this,Can i mod anything in any way to consume less air?
JackRock stated in another post somewhere around here that he had tweaked his and it was now a "beast".can I do something along these lines or not?

Re: Streamline air system?

huh i used to use a 72/3000 and i was able to get 600-700 shots off before needing to refill. I have polished my A-5 thought so I don't know if that is what made the difference or not.

Re: Streamline air system?

use a LPK?

I don't see it otherway, I get about the same range from my I would say, but most of the time I just get whole day air refills so I keep constantly filling my tank

No I don't use an lpk,I don't see the need for it in conjunction with the remote.
I too get all day refills,it's just disconcerting that it uses so much air.

Re: Streamline air system?

If you don't already have it, I would say get a regulator and turn the FVA flush with the powertube. Stock, the gun is using more air than it should. Its using more air and just adding disturbance to slow it down. If you flush the FVA and get a regulator, you can back the pressure off while still using the stock spring and be able to slow the gun down to what you want. That should save you some air. Anything after that is pretty much going to use the same amount.

Other than that, I would say get a 4500 psi tank. Get 50% more shots and less refills with one of those.

Re: Streamline air system?

My Internals are polished,I use a JCS red hot power tube,X7 valve,Trinity springs,Tect T vortex & lightning rod mods.wargear flexi paddles,original air lines,R/T.
I rechecked the R/T for leaks(really examined it too) nothing.

Re: Streamline air system?

One thing is for sure is that something is wrong. You should be getting significantly more than 400 shots on that tank with your setup.

Major differences between your setup and mine:
- I use the DOP power tube
- I use the orange Howitzer front bolt
- I do not use the RT

Might want to try disengaging the RT and checking the efficiency afterwards.

Re: Streamline air system?

How old is your tank? Maybe try and use somebody else's tank till it's empty and see if your tank has an issue?
