Push Pin Breaking w/ Folding Stock

I have an A5 with the G36 folding stock. Its seems that after every game and cleaning, I find the lower push pin to the stock broken in two. Does anyone have this same problem? Any fixes (Tippmann does a great job in replacing them, but getting tired of calling)?

I use Clevis pins. You can find them at Home Depot in the fastener section, that is where I got mine from.

Re: Push Pin Breaking w/ Folding Stock

This happened as a result of my stock as well. I know there are some places that you can buy stronger pins but they are like $20 and I dont recall where it was at. What i recently did to solve this problem was find a nail or bolt of the same diameter and cut them down to a little longer the the stock pins. They seem to fit snug enough not to fall out during a game. But with a bit of force they come out. I havent played a game yet since I have done this so I cant garenty that they will stay fixed.

Re: Push Pin Breaking w/ Folding Stock

In my marker, I have replaced the push pins with brass screws for that very reason, a bit ghetto, but it works.. Maybe I will find some steel ones and blue them, but hey.. at the moment they are holding up..

functionality over looks LOL

Re: Push Pin Breaking w/ Folding Stock

Alamo city PB also has a set of machined stainless steel pins that are very nice as well HERE Just out of curiosity though, are you using a buffer oring behind the rear bolt? That usually solves the problem of breaking pins

Re: Push Pin Breaking w/ Folding Stock

I have the G36 folding stock as well and have the same problem, the main problem is that the pin holes on the stock dont line up perfect with the holes on the receivers. I grinded them out a little bit and it helped but would still break the pins so I started using the clevis pins and they work great.
