A-5

Hi guys
Im new to the forum and I just have some questions to ask. I was out playing yesterday with my A-5 and every fifth ball or so was breaking. Im not sure what the problem would be. I just finished moding the cyclone. I have Tech T squishy paddles, with the trinity internal parts, the lightning rod and the x7 piston housing. I also have the trinity spring kit installed. It is the Response triggered A-5. Im not sure if it was just because of the temperature outside or the paint. Also the balls that were shooting clean did not go very staight. Im currently using a 14inch all american 2 peice barrel, and a 16inch Linear barrel. Is it wise to buy an apex barel or flatline? Or what is the best option to get good distance and better acurracy.
Thank you for any advice.

Re: A-5

I like the Apex way more than the flatline. Where were the balls breaking, barrel, cyclone, or chamber? What paint were you using? How cold was it outside?

Re: A-5

Two completely different questions here. I shoot a freak kit on my A-5 and it shoots ridiculously straight as your all american should. I am guessing your problem was the paint or the incorrect insert in your barrel. Now to your first question. Were the balls breaking in the cyclone or in the barrel? Answering that can lead us to further investigation. One other thing to check, when you installed your cyclone upgrades did you remember to install the spring guide? It is often left out. It is item 2-51 in the schematic.

Re: A-5

We were using Draxxus paint. Im not sure what kind exactly they were. Ill have to find out. The balls were breaking in the barrel. I didnt break any in the chamber or the cyclone. The temp outside was around 12 degrees celsuis. Yes I did remeber to put in the spring guide.

Re: A-5

Good, If they were breaking in your barrel it is not your cyclone. What size insert was in your gun? I shoot draxxus midnight sometimes and use the .693 on wet or humid days and .689 pretty much the rest of the time. Draxxus tends to be good paint. So, I would say your insert was probably too small. Did you size your balls to the insert prior to shooting your gun?

Re: A-5

No problem. That's what this website is here for. I always size my paint to the insert. That is one of the main advantages of a kit. I've used the same box of balls two weeks in a row and had to use different inserts because of the temperature and/ or humidity. On a rainy day I always go with a my biggest insert. It just tends to work better. If your barrel only came with one insert, you may want to consider buying more. They sell for about $12.50 (American). ActionVillage.com sells all the sizes!

Re: A-5

One more question. What would you reccomend either buying new backs or upgrading to a apex barrel. Thanks again

Are you talking about inserts? I would definately get a good shooting strainght barrel before upgrading to an apex. When the time comes you can get an all american apex ready front. Then Lapco sells just the apex tip. So, for about $70 or so you can shoot an apex off your all american.

Re: A-5

Yes I mean inserts. Basically just get the different size inserts, then when i become more accustomed and more accurate with my gun upgrade to apex ready all american front. Thank you again for the help and advice.
