Shipping Co2 Tanks

I sold my a5s on ebay (did pretty well). I need to ship the co2 tanks as well but they are full. Is it safe to ship them full or do I have to empty them first? And how is the best way to empty them?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Shipping Co2 Tanks

You have to ship them empty. Otherwise, in flight, they can become an explosive hazard due to the pressure variations... Also, an empty tank weighs less than a full one so you're saving a little bit of money too.

Re: Shipping Co2 Tanks

Shoot some paint or put some oil in the ASA and fire away. Remove the barrel though.

If you have a remote or a Spare ASA, use that.

Re: Shipping Co2 Tanks

Not only is it unsafe. It is actually illegal to ship Co2 canisters with Co2 in them, with mail and planes. You could get a fine of up to $50 000 and jail If you get caught, I was told. I have run in to this problem many times. When I normally visit the USA at least 2 times a year. And I always bring back some stuff from the US.

Re: Shipping Co2 Tanks

It's already been said but make sure those tanks are emptied, the $50,000 fine could be the least of your worries if one of those tanks were to explode in transit.
