Paintball Remorse...it was bound to happen.

Knowing full well that I will forget feeling all of this when we go out and play Woodsball this Saturday...I am feeling the inevitable low that follows the high of getting all my paintball gear. I'm ecstatic when something arrives in the mail, then I remember how much I've spent so far just to get ready to play my first game of the season...upgrades to turn my 3 year old A5 into The Repressor, Multicam this Multicam that, hardsided case for the marker, etc etc.

I mean it all looks great, and like I said, I'm sure I'll have fun, but I am trying to justify all this spending during an impending recession.

As another qualifier, since I'm pretty much ramped up on gear, I probably won't have to get some more stuff for a while. (This is the part where I feel like I'm just kidding myself, since there always something I'll want! )

How do you guys feel about spending your hard-earned money on your gear?

Re: Paintball Remorse...it was bound to happen.

I make no money, as I have no job. When I do come across some odd jobs I do for a little, I usually spend the money on paintball. I'm getting a summer job this summer, and most if not all of that money will go to paintball.

I love the sport, and my friends do to. It's no different then being a collector of cars, or any other thing. We just put ours to a bit more use.

I always see something and want it right then and there. I can get a 06 ego, dye tank, empire B, event with 4 lenses for 600$ but I dunno if I should, because I have spent so much on paintball, and i rarely have time to play.

Re: Paintball Remorse...it was bound to happen.

I feel you man. I just shelled out about $400+ in paintball related items over the past week. I bought a multi-part auction on ebay for mil-sim stuff (great deal lots of goodies for my a5), 2 vforce profilers, a 32 degrees whisper, a j&J ceramic, belleville 700 boots, 3 point sling, another tippmann a5, and then a third tippmann a5, and i am still looking for a mock ACOG (Another) and a UMP Kit......It never ends, but its all for the love of the sport, plus the 08 season (for me at least) is starting up as of March 15th at Stalingrad and then at least every two weeks is another scenario game. I am getting pumped more than depressed about money. You only live once so to speak.

Personally, I plan to dump a nifty chunk of change into both my A-5s to get them where I want them to be. Some is cosmetic, and some is performance. Once I get them there, I should be good for a while (hopefully ).

Re: Paintball Remorse...it was bound to happen.

Every time I get one of my markers upgraded just the way I like it, I suddenly want something else. It's a vicious circle, but an oh-so-fun one!
