Scenario Time Bomb Prop

Ok I'm looking to build a really cool fun to use Time Bomb Prop for scenarios.

Here's what I'm thinking, make it all dressed up with C4 looking material or fake dynamite with a keypad and a digital timer that counts down from a predefined time say 5 min. I would like to have it activated by a code at which time it starts to countdown, and if not disarmed it sets of an alarm or horn. If disarmed it simply stops or shuts off.

Any ideas help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Scenario Time Bomb Prop

find an old VL hopper timer. but you'd have to start the timer manually.

Re: Scenario Time Bomb Prop

I've thought about using something like burglar alarm educational science hobby kit tied in with a timer to build a makeshift scenario bomb.

I deff. like that one. I would set it up to a 12g with paint mix... and actually have an explosion. That would be sick. Or maybe fill a container with baby powder and have that go off... would be fun to simulate an explosion, especially if someone was trying to disarm it.

Re: Scenario Time Bomb Prop

How about one of these in a metal case as above, with a clear perspex window in it........

with the alarm also hooked to a eletrical "detonater" switch that triggers some small computer fans and a smoke bomb to pump out the smoke?

Instead of a code, just have a lockable case with a key, and place the key in a seperate area (with a huge tag/flag on it). that way it cant be "defused" without the key (code) and it can be stopped using just the one start/stop button rather than trying to make a numberpad switch.

Re: Scenario Time Bomb Prop

great ideas. especially making it explode.
heres a game idea
the offense has a bomb and needs to plant it at a predetermined location. If defense fails to stop bomb being planted they need to hunt down a VIP on the offense who has the key

Re: Scenario Time Bomb Prop

I went to a scenario once that had a really good bomb prop made out of a former drill case. Basicly, there was a series of 3 2-way switches and were all in different directions that had numbers for it, so you needed to switch them to the number of the combo.
1-2
3-4
5-6
That's sort of how it's set up, if you got it right you would then turn another switch, which was key activated, and if you got the combo right, it would set of a siren, if you ran out of time the siren would go off. I'll email the maker, maybe he can send you some prints. Hope this helps.
Cheerz,
Liger
