Camp Blanding (AAR) After Action Review

The field was excellent, with multiple building types to choose from and a minor sewer system. It was however a bit crowded with a total of 1206 registered players for a field this size. I got to meet several folks from this forum, all of them being great individuals who I would gladly sling paint again with.

Thank you to MajorGlory, and Abe (can't remember your forum name) for hanging out with me on the field and helping me setup my camp site. Also a big thanks to 1MG WildWill, and the 1st Mercenary Group for letting those of us from the A-5 Operators to run with them on the field. Last but not least, I would like to thank jhall9701 who went above and beyond by reserving me a camping spot..... thank you.

When I was warned about the pavement/floors getting slick, they weren't joking. I ran into a building, hit a slick patch, and literally did a flip in the air over a downed file cabinet. The result is a slightly bruised, and sore left hip.

Paint was always zipping threw the air no matter where I was at, so the action was always in my face. I got hit from above, behind, in the butt (I've got a baseball size bruise to prove it), in the neck, in the groin, in my armpits, repeatedly on my left thumb...... and numerous other places. I got shot out atleast a 20 times, but easily got about 60+ folks out in return.

Here's a few photo's, and video's of the game:

WoW! I'm very jealous. It looks like it was one great time down there. I would much rather be slinging paint down in Florida than sitting at home in February with -30 degree weather. Maybe I could convince the wife and kids we need to go to Disney at that time next year then skip out and spend the weekend there.

Re: Camp Blanding (AAR) After Action Review

Thanks, and great job on the videos Invictus. I feel your pain regarding the slick conditions. I was making a run for the front door of bldg. 12 during the night game, grabbed the hand rail to spin around up the stair case and my feet went out from under me. Landed on my hip and left shoulder which are still tweaked up.

Met Major Glory and another forum member I can't recall his name. Had one heck of a time!

Thanks for the AARs guys...Looks like you had fun!

Keep em coming so I can live vicariously thru you

I actually had a chance to train FL NG troops there in 1994 looks like they made quite a few improvements. I saw this pic and was reminded that Blandings MOUT site truely is awsome...

Re: Camp Blanding (AAR) After Action Review

Good pics. And you know any event ODX attends you are welcome to run with them.

Which side did you play on? ODX was on the Horde side. They had fun, but said it was too many peeps for a playing area that size.

Looks like it was a little bit chilly out there!

That definitely looked like fun. I might have to give this scenario stuff a chance.
