My Girl Friend has a daughter that has just turned 9. She and her 2 younger brothers have been introduced into the wonderful world of paintball and they love it. Even though they are quite young, we set aside our gear, put on a safety vest, and walk out with the kids so they can learn the game. Their first game they each got shot once, a little tear here and there but soon after with some praise, they went around showing off their battle marks...

I have recently purchased some old beat up markers, 1 of which is a paint peeling BT4. Since young Kora has turned 9 and is saving along with her brothers to get the paintball markers of their dreams (took them to the local paintball shop where they got to dry fire their favorites), we have decided to give Kora her own paintball marker that is her's alone to use at games till she buys her own (DM4 I think).

With work and all, I have not had much time but a quick 1.5hrs and that old BT4, this is what I got (will have to clean the dried paint off later), one of her favorite colors is blue:





I can't wait till she opens her present .

Get her a 9 ounce, the lighter weight will help her wield the marker around without it being so heavy from a larger tank. Also a shoulder strap is good for young kids so they can let their back carry the marker when not playing.

Also a full helmet should be a requirement for anyone under the age of 10. Getting hit in the back of the head at that age is a bad idea, as their bones are growing so fast that it could cause problems. I got JT full helmet (flex 8's) for my kids when they were that age. That way the top of their heads and the back of their heads were covered.

And remember, when they are ready to quit, don't push them to keep at it. Letting the kid decide when they are ready to stop is critical in them keeping their fun factor in the game.

Have a dozen 9oz tanks but the kids use 13/3000 tanks.

They run full helmets, they have an adult with them at all times that wears a high visibility vest, they do not know the word quit (they only know, "when is the next game" "I need more paintballs" "my tank is empty")
