First some background;
I am not exactly new to paintball as a whole, but i am new to gun ownership. the A5 is my first, my baby. my boss owns a conglomeration of real guns amid his plethora of paintball guns. he started with a shocker, moved to an A5, toyed around, bought all kinds of other stuff in the process, and ended up selling all except the shocker and bought an AngelA1. well, HIS boss got HIM started in paintball with the shocker, so you can imagine the watercooler talk at our office. btw, my boss is a member here. i dont think he would appreciate me posting his name though. lets just say he is an old guy.
anyway, while he got his A5, he had a lot of fun modding it to milsim, putting new parts, new barrels, new trigger etc etc. and finally ended up chopping it down to be a "fair" size "handgun version" (that would be tac capped at 30 rnds, 1" barrel, no sights, and a remote line for manoeuverability) of the A5.
That said, my own A5 got off the ground from stock with my first mod - the Freak barrel system. i loved how much more accurate i got with stock sights and this new barrel. then my boss got am M203 Shroud from opsgear, and our descent into madness truly got started. i bought the MK48 saw shroud and played with JUST the shroud and the freak for many games until i finally had enough of the "no shouldering" approach to unfocused fire. i went and got a Tiberius Picatinny mount Laser sight which i soon discovered i could barely see in the shadow of a broad daylight day. well suffice it to say i also had enough of my lazy finger not pushing enough balls out of the gun and opted for the Response trigger. it took about 500 rounds and a week of labour to get it working properly, but it pushes the 16-18 BPS mark not too bad at 3000 psi. my only complaint now is i can't get enough air. i only wish i could improve the efficiency of the gun without it becoming MORE bulky with an LPK. i think just the Howitzer front bolt (as everyone tells me it really bumps up efficiency) will be the internal that gets remade if at all anything else.
well after my issue with the RT got sorted out, i went out and got the SAW stock, and 3 more tiberius lasers. i have 4 rails, why not use them ? i also found that it was REALLY heavy front side, so i got the folding foregrip. my boss suggested i rip off the pushbuttons from the cap ends of the lasers and mesh them together into one button for easier access. well, done that today.
the end result ...
i call her the Predator. overall weight with tank (i am arnold!) is about 20 lbs.
