V Force Thermal Mask. Is It Worth It?

My question this time around is going to be, Is the V-Force Thermal Grill Mask worth the $70? I bought a $30 JT mask, and I am beginning to despise it. It fogs SO often. Would a new lense fix this, or should i just spring for the V-force Thermal Grill Mask?

Re: V Force Thermal Mask. Is It Worth It?

I am not sure as to how comfortable your JT $30 mask is and whether or not you have a full vision. If you have that much money, it's definitely worth it. But look into the Profiler (V-Force Profiler) because it's cheaper, and it's definitely worthed, because I have one. In a sport like this don't hesitate to spend money on necessary/safety items such as goggle, it's well worth the money spent....if you are dedicated.

well put. I have seen the profilers, but thats not what I'm looking for. I'm looking specifically for the Thermal Grill mask. Alot of my friends have them and say that they NEVER fog. thats exactly what I'm looking for. My current mask protects me fine, but it fogs pretty frequently.

You could fit a fan like a mate of mine did in these photos he says they work a treat. Full fogged up and he switches it on and an a few sec's no fog

Re: V Force Thermal Mask. Is It Worth It?

The Grillz are great mask. I use one myself.

They do not have the traditional dual pane thermal lens that Dye and JT amongst other use. Instead, vForce has decided to go with a very hard anti-fog coating on the lens leaving it single paned. The coating works great. Lasted me about 9 months of no fog with play on average of once a week. The origional lens fogs a little bit now as the coating is wearing off, but it's still working great as long as I let the mask air out between games.

I don't like the dual pane lenses as the seals tend to be very weak, and the inner lens is basically the same thing as the coating on a vForce treated lens.

I always tell people that the first thing they should buy for paintball is a good mask. If you can't see what you're shooting at, you'll have no fun. The Grillz are in my opinion, the best mask on the market today. I'm sure someone will disagree, but of all the mask I've owned, my grillz have been the best.

you could always try anti-fog wipes. Those would help if you didn't want to throw down your cash for a new mask.

Re: V Force Thermal Mask. Is It Worth It?

An important note about V-Force anti-fog, that a lot of people miss, and then complain about.

If/When you need to re-apply the anti-fog, you spray it on, and then gently spread it with a microfiber cloth. It shouldn't be buffed or wiped - the idea is to coat the inside of the lens with a film of it.

Just a heads-up.

Re: V Force Thermal Mask. Is It Worth It?

The vents line of mask has better thermal lenses then the grills do. Its because the double pane instead of single like the vforce masks are. I know the grillz look better tho. But i even know a guy who wears grillz during the day and at night switches over to a pair of vents cylus because it wont fog on him

Re: V Force Thermal Mask. Is It Worth It?

I broke down and bought a Grillz this spring, I also have 2 Proto Switch FS masks. Though the grillz is a little smaller it did not affect comfort at all. I was and am still very impressed with the antifog lens, I had absolutely no issues with fogging from day to night with a 30 degree swing in temp. Money well spent... ...PG
