Most commercial fields require your paintball goggles to have full face and ear protection. That said, there are helmets that will fit a paintball mask.

This is true. While I myself would only wear goggles designed and approved for paintball use, the idea Merc has is just that, an idea. If some new product spins off from this thread and becomes the prototype of a brand new breed of paintball goggles (it might happen), then it's benefited the whole paintball community.

That being said, under no circumstances should anyone take to the field wearing anything less than safety tested and approved head protection. To do so is to take your life in your hands, and quite stupid to boot.

To speculate is one thing. To put looking cool or different, before your own personal safety qualifies you for an automatic nomination for the Darwin Awards.

I would like a description of how you would improve this product ... without changing it to much to be paintball ready ... i dont need your pessimism and this is not about kick-ass looks over safety ... sheeeesh ... you need to think outta the box for a change.

I just feel that the milsim community needs a milsim mask now and perhaps a proactive approach on analyzing existing solutions would be a start.

I think a design like the gas mask someone posted could have some feasibility, it would have to have ear protection as well. I'm thinking something that resembles a motorcycle helmet
