How well do painted masks hold up?

I have a Dye Invision mask and seeing it with my multicam just doesn't look right. It sticks out like a sore thumb. So I was thinking of painting it to match. The thing I'm worried about, though, is how it's gonna hold up. These things aren't exactly rigid and I'm afraid any paint I put on it will crack. And the last thing I want to do is repaint it 3 times a season.

So how do they hold up?

Re: How well do painted masks hold up?

I believe Deacon painted a mask in multicam and another in woodland camo. I remember he put up pictures of how they held up after awhile. You may want to check those out. Another thing, the first coat I did on my mask was using latex paint and then I spray painted designs on that. It gives the paint enough flexibility to survive normal flex of the mask.

Edit:

Re: How well do painted masks hold up?

i remember a homemade mask mod where a guy used spray adhesive and mod podge to glue a camo bandanna to his mask, apparently it worked well.
that and the liquid dimension imaging that nchittendon does is amazing stuff.

Re: How well do painted masks hold up?

Thanks guys. Yeah, we are working with adhesion promoters and what not to help it stick and be flexible.

I have 2 masks done for personal use, and I TRY to get shot in the head, and so far they have taken quite a few hits and are holding up fine.

Thanks for the link! We appreciate it.

I hope they hold up really well. I suck at painting things and would really like my mask to be done, eventually. Hope you guys get it sorted out.
