Re: new mask

I am with shartley : I use a JT Spectra mask with thermal lens and fan and LOVE it!

20 years of using JT and have never had any problems.

How many of these other masks have a 20+ year history?

But to each his own.

Re: new mask

I have a JT as my primary mask. The lense takes several minutes to remove unlike other masks with faster lense removal time. You may take 15 minutes removing your lense instead of playing....er...or just don't remove the lense

Cleaning the lens in place is just sometning you get used to.

I also highly recommend replacing your lenses once a year, regardless of the model, The few $$$ for a new lens is cheap insurance against an eye injury. Safety first.

Re: new mask

A few good safety guidelines:

1) Like Guardian said, replace the lens once a year no matter how much use it's seen.

2) If any chipping, cracking, or deep scratching appears on the lens, replace it immediately. Not at the end of the day. Immediately.

3) If you're shot in the lens from 10 feet or less, whether or not you see a crack, chip or scratch, replace the lens immediately.

Re: new mask

$37.95 for the Spectra Thermals like I wear at Action Village. I may try the Flex 8 camo next time.

edit:
Mike from Techpb weighed some masks and the JT is actually very light compared to some of the others.

I am glad you picked a mask that you not only got to try, but really meets your needs. The JT Spectra is OFTEN overlooked because it is "old school", but the fit and feel can often times be a lot better than some might think... until they try it out.

My philosophy with products is that I am happy no matter what the person gets, as long as they make an informed decision that actually meets their needs and desires. Often times the RIGHT product may not be the one folks first consider. And in this case it looked to be that way.
